just call ahead
i read about the long waits, so sunday at 3pm, i just called ahead and ordered a classic sandwich spicy and some summer rolls. i walked 10 minutes to this place, and when i showed up it was waiting. the sandwich was SPICY, and i like spice, but overall very fresh.

That bread?
I have tried Hanco's a few times and while the flavors are solid and the quality of ingredients seems good, I just can't get past the bread! It is way too soft. Ironic because they actually describe it as "crusty" on their menu. Not even close.

Best sandwich in Brooklyn
Hanco's has the best sandwich in town. I am obsessed with the food and the bubble teas. Don't forget to ask for spice on the sandwich. Their original and the coconut bubble teas taste deliscious.

the Best Vietnamese sandwich ever!
I am Vietnamese and have eaten Vietnamese all over the world including in Vietnam. This place has amazing sandwiches. I get the pork chop extra spicy and its my favorite sandwich. The summer rolls are also the best I've ever had because the rice paper they use is very thin and its always fresh never pre-prepared and sitting in the fridge where the skin can get tough. The salads are divine as well as their Vietnamese iced coffee. I would not recommend the bubble tea here only because they have the wrong size straws and the bubbles are too big. I've never had to wait for long for my order either but I do usually call it in first. I noticed the prices creeping up already so head to this neighborhood haunt before the world discovers it!

a destination
whenever i can make an excuse to visit carroll gardens, i go here. its right off the bergen stop. when i lived here, i'd go all the time. i've never waited that long. i'm not a big fan of the bubble tea, but the sandwiches and salads are fantastic. i've yet to find a replacement in or around chelsea.

Go on the weekends
I'll admit, I was scared by the reviews below about waiting forever to get a sandwich, but I was there this Saturday, and it only took 5 minutes. Seriously, though, I would've waited a half an hour or more, as it was easily one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever eaten. The classic sandwich, spicy style? Yeah. Worth the wait.
