Great Vietnamese Sandwiches!
This is a rare place, since excellent Vietnamese sandwiches are not easy to find. The usual Vietnamese Pho places do not serve great sandwiches. We tried both the classic sandwich and the grilled pork, and both are excellent. Would go back in a heartbeat, even it is far from me.

closest place for a ban mi
Not the best, being from San Francisco yet i'm grateful they are close and deliver. In SF they are 1/2 the price, but whatever. The ingredients are fresh. The bread is great and they should consider a pulled bbq chicken.

Great sandwiches
Looks like their working out the kinks after having just opened a few months ago, and I am glad. This place makes a fantastic sandwich. And it's a nice change of pace from all the sushi and italian food in this neighborhood.

best sandwiches
I have tried many different banh mi places in Manhattan and so far this place is at the top of the list. Nicky's is ok , but no comparison to this place. The bread, the meat, and daikon at Hanco's are much better.

Decent for the neighborhood
The sandwiches at Hanco's are fairly good-- as a vegetarian, I've only tried the tofu one, but it was fine. But having said that, I have to agree with earlier reviewers who pointed out that Nicky's (either in Boerum Hill or the East Village), by comparison, is substantially better than Hanco's along several criteria. Specifically, Nicky's sandwiches are more delicious (and they're happy to do "extra spicy" for me whereas Hanco's only seems to do "spicy" or "not spicy" without providing a couple of extra jalapenos upon request); Nicky's is a better value for a sandwich (obviously $4.50 is a better bargain than $6.50); and the staff at Nicky's is more gregarious and welcoming (which isn't to say that the employees at Hanco's are surly, but they're not as chatty and pleasant). But all in all, I live a couple of blocks from Hanco's, so for a quick fix when I can't get to Nicky's, it's fine. Just don't expect it to be the end-all, be-all of Brooklyn's banh mi joints.

incredible
i can't rate the atmosphere only because i've never been in, but just ordered in and it's DELICIOUS. nice person on the phone, arrived quickly, and a great price for the amount of food you get...the banh mi is as awesome as any i have had. SO HAPPY this place has come to the neighborhood!

I love this place
Great bubble tea and rice wraps. Haven't really tried the sandwiches yet but so excited to have this place in the slope. As for the higher prices... I don't think they'd survive very long in park slope if they didn't raise them.The rent on 7th ave is ridiculous. Tea lounge used to be there but the rent hike forced them out.Their Bergen location is tiny and I'm sure their rent is a lot cheaper.
