Finally ...a great casual UWS spot!
Food was GREAT. Dosas are filling and filled with unexpected ingredients (goat cheese, tuna, etc), along with standard Indian favorites. Fav: grilled chicken, tomato, goat cheese, greens. Staff is really enthusiastic about the food and about making sure you have the right chutney to go with the dosa of your choice. Definitely give it a try.....I'd hate to see this place leave the neighborhood.

Best Dosas ever!
I love all of Hampton Chutney's locations and am excited to finally have their superb dosas closer to home. The new shop looks amazing and the dosas and uttapams are just as great as at the other two shops. Bravo for consistently great tasting food and good atmosphere. This is a great place to go for an early dinner with the kids as they have a little table for tots where they can color and books and puzzles for them to play with so you can actually have a meal. I love it.

Finally, dosa returns to the UWS
Although they have no competition in the dosa department, Hampton Chutney produces one fine dosa. In addition to the more traditional dosa (spiced potatoes and onions) they have some decidedly American versions (arugula, beets, goat cheese.) I am so glad they opened an uptown location.
