Gluten-free friendly
The food's OK here, even if the huge dosas are overpriced. But really the reason my family goes is because it's gluten-free friendly. The dosas are made from rice batter and if you talk to the servers they will make sure your order is cooked right. So even if you're not a huge dosa fan, if you've got celiac you should try the place.

Addictive
They have some nicely prepared fresh food at this place. That said, it is not exactly authentic Indian food so you might be dissapointed if you are expecting that. I like the dosas the best- prepared to order with nice home made chutney. The chai is good and coffee. The only thing I don't like is it's a little over priced. But I just can't stop going here for lunch because the dosas are quite addicting.

So delicious
This is my favorite take-out in Manhattan. The dosas are made with the freshest, yummiest ingredients and are made to order so they are hot and delicious.

Tasty but pricey
The sandwich that I bought (grilled chicken, mango chutney, cucumber, and romain lettuce on sourdough) was tasty, but wasn't worth the nearly $10 price tag. For that amount, I should be getting a pickle, potato chips, salad, SOMETHING, to accompany it. I will be back, though, to try the chai and a dosa.

Not recommended
Agree that the food is "faux Indian," but it's more than that. The food just isn't good, at all. I've never had a dosa that tasted worse. It's tough finding a good dosa restaurant in the city, but this one definitely isn't it.

Greatest Dosas on Earth (+caveat)
Quick service of the greatest dosas on earth, surrounded by the calming ambiance of strollers, yoga mommies, and the most obnoxious, poorly raised upper west side brats you have ever seen, running amok, like they were raised by wolves, crayons in hand and destruction on the mind. Luckily, they deliver!
