    I am addicted

as someone with multiple food allergies, hampton chutney feels like an oasis of yummy in a desert of otherwise bad food options. granted, i do have those po'ed toddlers that another reviewer mentioned, but i think that the food is delicious. i highly recommend. the cilantro chutney is to die for, and the dosas are a meal that my entire family can (and will eat). love it.

    Fine on off-hours.

Otherwise, this place is often jam-packed with strollers and p.o.'d toddlers which kind of kills my weekend afternoon mojo. Food's OK, but not spectacular and pretty overpriced. However, what I will give this place credit for is being a pretty quick alternative to other mediocre options.

    not good

i would never go there again, portions are smaller compared to the price and we need to buy the sambhar, actually sambhar is supposed to be given with the dosa

    Gluten-free friendly

The food's OK here, even if the huge dosas are overpriced. But really the reason my family goes is because it's gluten-free friendly. The dosas are made from rice batter and if you talk to the servers they will make sure your order is cooked right. So even if you're not a huge dosa fan, if you've got celiac you should try the place.

    Addictive

They have some nicely prepared fresh food at this place. That said, it is not exactly authentic Indian food so you might be dissapointed if you are expecting that. I like the dosas the best- prepared to order with nice home made chutney. The chai is good and coffee. The only thing I don't like is it's a little over priced. But I just can't stop going here for lunch because the dosas are quite addicting.

    So delicious

This is my favorite take-out in Manhattan. The dosas are made with the freshest, yummiest ingredients and are made to order so they are hot and delicious.

    Tasty but pricey

The sandwich that I bought (grilled chicken, mango chutney, cucumber, and romain lettuce on sourdough) was tasty, but wasn't worth the nearly $10 price tag. For that amount, I should be getting a pickle, potato chips, salad, SOMETHING, to accompany it. I will be back, though, to try the chai and a dosa.
