Don't order here if you are hungry

I really like the soups they offer at Hale and Hearty but the last 3 times I have ordered it has taken over an hour to get my food. The most recent time took OVER an hour and a half and my soup was cold. I called and they blamed it on the rain but in my opinion these guys are large and should be organized enough to prepare for bad weather and bring on extra delivery guys. The food is good but not good enough to wait.

    Best soup!!

This place has the best soups and salads I can get outside of my own family. The Split Pea soup is to die for, and their caesar salad dressing is the best too. They mix all your salad ingredients fresh, and the dressing is tossed right in. I have asked them to measure out my dressing (2 tbsp.) and they gladly did it. They will also give you the dressing on the side if you request it. A definite must if you are at the Chelsea market! You will be full when you leave, even with the combo which gives you a small soup and a salad. Trust me, it's enough!

    Best Soup in town!

All right, many really think that we shouldn't pay a lot for a cup of soup, but when it comes to H&H you won't regret it. I don't think there is a branch or restaurant that has a huge selection of soups, many try but of course nothing compared to them. My favorite soups, and I am an old customer, New England Clam Chowder, Broccoli Cheddar & Mashed Potato, and Seafood Paella, the best soups! You should try them!

    such nice people

I came with my father on Father's Day and the owner of one of the midtown locations served me. I tasted two of their specials that day: wild mushroom barley with peas and black bean. They were both fantastic but I decided to go with the muschroom barley. The man then offered my dad a free black bean because it was father's day. He even gave us a large and the mushroom was only a medium. In addition, he gave us as much bread as we wanted and a free bottle of water. It is so nice when you encounter good, pleasant people like that. The soup was great and it was a lovely dining experience.
