Some days it works, some days it doesn't. But I stopped ordering from them entirely when my order arrived after an hour and a half, stone cold, and with all of the sauce spilled in the bag. I would suggest trying somewhere else.

I am Japanese and from the Hakata prefecture of Japan. I am very upset with the food they serve as "Japanese food" . I had take out... it is overpriced and not cooked well at all. Its more Chinese than Japanese. This place is only surviving because of the tourists and those who have never tasted real Japanese food.

I hate to write this but I just ordered takeout from here - and although the food came very quickly - I am highly disappointed with the quality of the food. They don't use fresh crab (imitation only) and the dragon roll was really fishy and did not taste right. We just spent $45 for 4 rolls - and we're not happy. This place used to be good...not sure what happened. :(

I brought my girlfriend here for dinner tonight and it was the best meal at a Japanese place we have had yet. We went early..at 5:30, we were the first eating dinner. The tuna poke appetizer was great. Next the pieces of sushi were HUGE, twice the size of a normal piece of sushi you get anywhere else. The best value dollar for dollar I have ever seen (and eaten) for sushi. The waitress and wait staff were very nice and attentive, but not overbearing even though we were the only ones there for the first 45 minutes. Now I am a believer, and will be going back soon.

we found this wonderful place because we wanted a asian resturant that had vegtables that came with the entree, and that had good reviews. The food and service was out of this world. This was a good choice for my birthday

I usually order sushi takeout from Hakata so i nearly fell off my chair when my friend invited me to a sake "bar" and we ended up at...where else? Hakata. This place is now one of my go to sake/eateries. It is a highly pleasant and cozy experience. They do Sake flighs the right way here, that is knowledgeable and unpretentious, the real way! There's one waiter who is really amazing. At first 100 sakes might seem intimidating (which it is), but once you get started drinking its all the same. I recommend it highly.

I had dined at Hakata Grill a couple of times so when my friend from Chicago suggested sushi, I took her there because the fish I ordered in the past had been so fresh. Halfway through our meal a mutual friend unexpectedly showed up early before our prearranged time. We asked our server if they could pull up a chair so our friend could join us. We would've gladly squeezed her in. It seemed our request threw the staff into a quandary and they asked our friend to wait a moment. Maybe they thought our table was too small to fit three comfortably and they were in a dilemma about what to do since there was no larger table available to accommodate us the dining room was filled. It got to the point where we decided to finish our dinner quickly and leave with our friend. As luck would have it, a table for four opened up and the staff moved us over to it immediately after it was cleared. They were more than gracious about the whole situation and provided the same courteous and attentive service we received before our friend showed up. Our friend was able to order a dinner and we all were able to enjoy the rest of the evening at a more than leisurely pace. This long story is my way of telling about the excellent service Hakata Grill provides. Of course the sushi is fresh, fresh, fresh. The wine list is limited but there's a good savignon blanc from New Zealand that I was perfectly happy with. The ambiance is comfortable enough. It was an overall excellent, excellent dining experience!
