Simple and disappointing
I ordered the simplest item - Pollo Cubano which is basic chicken, rice, black beans and plantains. I was in the mood for something simple...The chicken tasted microwaved and they didn't bother to even add salt to anything. It was totally flavorless. I'm not expecting anything spectacular but just basic and "okay" would have worked. This was cooked with no spices, thought, nor effort. Really disappointed.

Don't fall for this place
Food was mediocre. Beware of the "service charge" they add to the bill. It's just a gratuity, but if you ask, the server will tell you some story about the hotel "surcharge". What they're trying to do is make you tip twice.

Beware of rip off "service charge"
Food was OK but not very memorable. My big problem with this place is the "service fee" added to your check which is roughly 20 % of your total. When I asked the server what the fee was for he said it was a fee tacked on by the attached hotel. I went and asked hotel management and they said it was a gratuity - in other words, a tip. Don't fall for it. The tip is already included in the bill.

Keep going... not cuban or anything..not recommended
The service was definitely awful. The lady who greeted us just pointed to our table and left us there for about 10 minutes before she came back with menus. We asked for bread and she came back with white toast NOT toasted and told us that's all she had. There was no wine menu and she offered us a bottle for an outrageous amount of money. We decided on two glasses of merlot (house wine) and they charged us $13.00 a glass!! The food was so well done it was like leather. The rice was cold and the beans were cold. They call themselves a Cuban restaurant and they don't even know the names of cuban food....We're both cubans and believe me we know our food very, very well. This is the worst cuban place I've ever dined in. I was furious for having spent lots of money on something so bad. Listen to us and don't go.

Shy away from entrees
Would not visit again. Free LQ coupons a plus. The food was not seasoned at all and bland. ...Bland cuban food....C'mon I understand we aern't in Miami, but I know there was some adobo somewhere in that kitchen. Plus is Atmosphere and the Drinks were excellent!

The place to be after a long day of work
After a long day at work, my co-workers and I were in the mood for something Cuban. We searched online for a Cuban restaurant nearby and thought we’d try Habana Room on 48th between Lexington and 3rd. We were also fascinated by the extensive Mojito selection we saw online. As we walked in the waiter looked right at us, smiled, and waved for us to walk in her direction. We were seated right away. We immediately ordered our chosen assortment of Mojitos (!!!) while we perused the rest of the menu. There were enough flavors for us to all try a different style- and still not try them all! I’m pretty old school, so I chose the Classic Mojito. Mmmm. I love when you have a drink and it does exactly what you wanted it to do. I couldn’t help but smile. Now if you’re going out to eat a particular cuisine, it is only customary that you order the most authentic items on the menu. So you see, choosing Ropa Vieja was an easy decision. While we waited for our meal to come, I looked around at the décor. With the help of the black and white patchwork of photos on the wall, and the decorative palm tree trim I was taken on a trip down a Cuban neighborhood. Once the food arrived, I smelled a challenge to my mom’s home cooking. There’s only one word I can use to describe my first bite: WOW! The meat was juicy, yet well done and the rice and beans were properly seasoned- not too salty. I didn’t get to taste anyone else’s meal, but we were all suddenly very quiet. I took that as an indication that we chose the right restaurant. We all had an amazing evening and the service was exceptional. At one point, the manager even walked over just to say hello and check up on us. I think that these kinds of gestures say a lot about a restaurant. They certainly made regular customers out of my whole team. I highly recommend Habana Room to anyone in search of a great evening, amazing Cuban food, and an exceptional staff. We certainly enjoyed ourselves.

The perfect place to forget about the sad autum
I went with my family and friends a Saturday Night to have a latin dinner and we were so happy we select this restaurant . The food was amazing, la ropa vieja was out of this world. The drinks top of the line, particularly the mojitos. That Saturday night they had an amazing female vocalist with a quartet that played salsa, merengue and more... We finished dancing our way out...Thanks habana. We will back.
