Ignor any negative reviews on this place. It is really fantastic. Hate to be a stickler but the service was a little slow and difficult to understand but only a little. The food was great. For those of you who dont know, this is a japanese barb place. That means it requires some work to cook your own food for the best dishes, but that's your choice. Great deal for the money...and these days that makes a difference.

My boyfriend and I went here after seeing the good reviews on this website and we were not disappointed. The food was very good he had the kobe filet (melt-in-your-mouth delicious!) and i had chicken. We also ordered kimchee, garlic potatoes, assorted mushrooms and udan noodles. It sounds like a lot of food, but they recommend you order a bunch of things because the portions are small. The tab adds up getting all these smaller portioned sides, but it was worth it. We also enjoyed our seats, which were 2 chairs side by side facing a window which overlooked the street. The service was great. This was a great date place and I would definitely recommend it.
Went here for my birthday. The food was great. The waiters were friendly. Will definitely be back.

There is a difference between being helpful and being obnoxious. For example, (and we did time them) one waiter asked if my friend wanted a beer. Within 4 seconds, the other waiter approached him and asked the same thing. 15 seconds later, a different waiter passes by. We could scarcely begin a conversation without the staff hounding us. The food may be good, but the waiters are insufferable.

The ambience and decor is very nice and cozy. I specially liked the two seat facing the street. The food tastes good, and the $20 lunch set is good value. Service is great. The waiters carefully explain to us how to cook the food and what type of meat is being served. And I LOVED the pancake ice cream dessert.

The prix fixe Takumi dinner was an unbelievable deal for 2 people. This place was totally memorable and I can't wait to go back. For dessert, they gave us graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows, and we actually roasted our own smores. Must try the Kobe beef and the ice cream pancakes with red bean dip.
