    Overpriced / Sub Par Service

after reading positive reviews we thought we'd check this place out. the food was way over priced. not to mention, there is a requirement that everyone orders an entree. no sharing is allowed. the atmosphere is lacking and the food was so-so. the service was mediocre at best. we were the only people in the entire restaurant and the waiter spent most of the time on his cell phone. i definitely would not go back.

    Not recommended

I have no problem paying top dollar for kosher restaurants, but at least you should get a decent meal for the money. First of all the atmosphere is that of a cheap restaurant, while the prices are ridiculous. The appetizer was tiny, the salad looked like something you get at a school cafeteria and was inedible. The side of broccoli came so over-cooked that it fell off the fork, when we sent it back, it returned still frozen in the middle... At these prices frozen veggies is a shanda. The only flavor in the pasta sauce was salt. The pasta itself was like rubber, also probably frozen. My wife couldn't gag down the $36 Bass- left over more than half. Even the bread was pedestrian at best. We came for the desserts, but after the first two courses decided not to waste our money or time. The service was slow, and there was only 3 other tables seated.

    We really loved the food

The food was amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves. This was our first time there. It was not too crowded and the atmosphere was quiet. At first that was off putting but everything was great. the server was friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Great place for a nice meeting where you actually care to hear the people you are with and enjoy good food.

    mediocre at best

Some great reviews on this site so we gave this place a try (large party from work) at lunchtime. Food is not bad, a bit hit or miss on some of the entrees. Everyone agreed the service was very sub-par (not so much fun watching the waiter play solitaire on the computer). All in all not a bad place, but for the price expected more, a lot more.

Great food, on the pricey side

I love this restaurant. The food is great ( I especially enjoy the gnochi). It is a bit on the more expensive side, but worth it.

    Great Food! Romantic Location

Me and my wife go to this restaurant all the time. Its charming atmosphere, and really excellent food, is unmatched in any kosher restaurant in NYC. Their fish, is really good and tasty, and their deserts are homemade, dairy and second to none. This place is definitely worth a visit on a stop to New York.

    Pasta dish was bland

The cheese on the greek salad was some rubbery substance completely unlike feta cheese. The pasta dish was bland and the waiter was unable to provide any grated cheese that might have given the food some flavor.
