drinks?
So...waited a half hour for my drink. I like to drink. I could've probably consumed three in that time. I eventually had to stand up and find my waiter. It was free but seriously I like to drink. Food was ho-hum.

not so mucho gusto
The portions are smallish, not bad tasting but nothing special. The tiramasu was very small and coffee is $4.50 which is ridiculous. To order two cups of coffee and the bill is increased $9.00 is asburd. The waitress we had was very sweet buy very inexperienced. She pronounced minestrone as mine stron. No kidding. The have olives at the bar to munch on but no place to put the pits. They serve bread but no butter or oil. We had to ask. I asked for some red pepper which the waitress brought but nothing to put it on with unless you used your fingers. Nice restaurant but but needs better professional oversight.

what a pleasant surprise
i went to gusto for the first time last month for brunch and went back again last night for dinner. both times everyone i was with had a great meal and no complaints. the grilled octopus is delicious and so are the entrees. the restaurant has a nice feel to it, although the music did get a bit loud towards the end of our meal. i will definitely be going back soon

So Bad
Was so disappointed with the meal we had there. The fish dish I ordered was tasty but miniscule. Served with about 4 tiny potatoes and virtually no veg. Ended up eating bread and ordering more, just to feel I had a meal. Restaurant only has 1 toilet - which males and females all que up for, right beside an area where staff cut bread to serve to guests. If the que is long, your miniscule dinner goes cold. Save your money, go somewhere else.

Good food - Diffident service
I've eaten here twice. I have no complaints about the food. But the plastic people, pretentious staff, and general snotty attitude are things to keep in mind. If you like that scene - enjoy.

Fried Artichokes
the artichokes here are worth the trip alone. Order the asparagus salad to start and the linguine with shrimp. yum

Great food, good scene
Although we waited almost 45 minutes for our table (we had a reservation) the staff couldn't have been more accomodating and friendly. There was definitely a "scene" going on (locals, euro, and sex-in-the-city wannabees all mashed together), but the host/managers had zero attitude and were very sorry about the wait, even comping us an app. The food was excellent (the octopus was exceptional as were the sardines and homemade pasta) and table service (once we were seated) was prompt and friendly. The biggest complaint was the cheesy euro-dance music that blared from about 9-10:30 - it brought the whole volume level in the place up. It was a Friday so all the amateurs were out, so I guess that could be excused. They need a better DJ to mellow the place out a bit the beauty of the room and quality of the food is demeaned by the bad tunes. This is a great place for a "couples" dinner with friends, but a bit noisy for a romantic getaway. Foodies may want to go earlier or during the week to get a real sense of the great food, but if you are looking to have a good time with great food, this is it . ..
