Such a shame. Gastropub is already an abused term in New York city, soon to be taken over for king of abuse by street food. This is the epicenter of underwhelming. And by a crew that can put out a great product... This is pushed too far too quickly and toobadly. Close down and open up a real gastro please. To answer your question, sure keep the 40s.

Hidden Gem!!
The food is delicious -- I have never been disappointed with anything I've tried -- and it feels like you're in someone's apartment. Love this place!!

I love this place!
This place is outstanding. The Tater Tots are fantastic, the burgers are top notch, the desserts...especially the chipwhich is amazing. In fact, I haven't ordered one thing from them that wasn't delicious. Keep up the great work!

Exceptional food and service
Tucked away on 79th, this place offers exceptional food, service and value. The staff is beyond attentive and friendly. The food is thoughtful and unique. I will be returning soon.

This Place Deserves To Become A Hit
Having tried this place a number of times now, and various different dishes from across the menu (Including some of specials) I have got to say that I rate this as one of the best meals I have had in New York in many years. The atmosphere probably more suits a younger age group. TV plays sports and the music is trendy. The back dining room is smart and practical for small or larger groups. The food is cooked to total perfection, you can tell it has been carefully planned and genuinely for what you receive is an absolute steal as pub food prices. There is even a beer menu that I overheard one person say "I haven't heard of any of these" - though Corona and Coors were there alongside many European beers too!?. Even if you are in two minds, at reasonable prices, just go there once, try it out and decide for yourself. $15 burger, beer and nachos a total steal.

Good food, but be prepared to wait
The food here is pretty tasty; however, after the service my friends and I had this past weekend I am in no rush to come back. The hostess told us the wait was 30-35 minutes. An hour and ten minutes later we were seated. However, even after being seated, we still waited over 10 minutes for a server to even acknowledge us. We ordered some appetizers which came out in a reasonable time but again, we had to ask for napkins and utensils which we didn't get till we were halfway through our apps. If you're willing to give this place a shot, the nachos and chips with onion dip were quite tasty.

Wonderful Neighborhood Place
I've been to G&G's a few times now and I'll continue to go. The atmosphere is cozy, laid back and easy. The service is always great and the staff always friendly and accommodating. If you're looking for a place to just catch up with a friend(s), this is it. Now, G&G's is a gastropub, so you shouldn't go expecting to get "healthy" food. It's fancy, upgraded pub fare. My favorite dishes are the nachos, the mac&cheese and the shakes. See, not healthy food. Also, my friend thought her past few meals were on the salty side. But, she said she was willing to go back because they have a few excellent dishes and more so because it's just a perfect little place to hang out for an hour or two!
