There are nice classy joints to go to when one wants an authentic Asian dining experience in NYC.....this is NOT one of them. This is more an authentic NYC experience of eating cheap, quick, oddly addicting fake food from the dodgy-looking hole in the wall. And this is the PERFECT joint for that. It provides good, simple food, takes credit/debit card, and has pleasant staff that you can actually understand. I'm a particular an of the dumplings, and will keep going back to this place for my movie-night Chinese fix!

I love this spot ... They prepare everything freshly made every day, the wontons are great! it is a traditional take out spot, but don't let that diminish it, they work hard to please.

Ordered take out. They called and said they didn't have anymore baby eggplant w/garlic sauce. I said, no problem...please cancel the order. Oh, we'll check downstairs. The called back and said no problem, we have. Delivery came. Spare ribs were excellent. Wonton soup ok. Shrimp toast was over-cooked and dry. Baby eggplant was mushy, tasteless, and just garlic-inedible. Double sautéed roast pork was ok, but lacked any zip. Especially since we requested spicy. General Tso's chicken was soggy, bland, and not even spicy. Ordered two orders of spare ribs and received 4 packets of duck sauce, no mustard, and 6 packets of soy sauce. Not too generous. Received complimentary fake fried rice. One of the most inadequate meals in a while. No mas!

I love love their Gen. Tsao's Tofu, crispy, tasty and yummy! I order it at least twice a week and even my picky-eater 9-year old loves it! Tofu with black bean sauce is also another good option (since I always order the Gen Tsao). I guess for UES, price is normal. Oh, and super speedy delivery!

It was a extremely cold day and it took them a while to serve us a pot of tea. Initially, I felt this might turn out more sour then sweet. As the food was served, I was quite pleasantly surprised. The dumplings were thin skin and the dumpling meat delicious and filling. So good, we ordered another plate full. That is a compliment who teaches cooking. The garlic pork was perfectly spiced. The broccoli and chicken dish was very good. A simple fare not covered by sauces. Good food and cheap go hand in hand and makes me want to come back.

We were very disappointed by the beef in the lo mein! It was really chewy and not really edible. The dumplings were ok, and the noodle soup was quite good, but we won't be coming back. Sorry!

I ordered my meal - great lunch prices - and exactly 10 min later, no joke, it was delivered to my door about 4-5 blocks away. Also, the portions are great - other places give you mostly rice and very little meat, but Guo's Garden filled my container with at least half chicken - more than I've ever gotten before. Great first time experience here and I'll def be ordering again!
