Good Food & Drinks
Went to this place with a huge group of people and we were serviced very nicely, the drinks were good and so was the food. A nice place if you like the hectic NYC atmosphere, however not for a first time date!

Way Too Loud!
Been there twice. Great drinks. Decent food, but not with the best ingredients and dripping in butter. Also, way too loud, even in the dining area. It's like eating in a night club. I won't go back except for drinks.

Great Cuban place - Lively atmosphere!
I love this place. The food is great, the people friendly and the mojitos are among the best in the city. This is a true Latin place, so expect a lot of dancing, music and noise. If you're looking for a quiet place or somewhere to take the kids, this is not it. But if you want a fun night out with your friends, this is about as good as it gets. Try the Ropa Vieja, it's by far my favorite dish there. The seafood ceviche is great as well.

Great Cuban Find!
We were in NYC for a few days and hadn't picked up on this restaurant in our perusal of this website. Lucky us for stumbling across it on one of our hikes through the city. Great food -- the chicken dish recommended by the waiter was excellent, as were the shrimp and suckling pig dishes of my companions. My wife thought the steak dish (sliced) was a bit heavy / greasy, but very tasty nonetheless. We talked the manager into a pitcher of mojitos, after which I couldn't remember much. Atmosphere was vibrant (other reviewers have called it loud -- rightly so). A great time had by everyone in our dinner party. At $50 per person, a bit pricey, but most of was the liquor bill!

Good Time/ Food (A Little Noisy Though)
It was my first time at Azucar; I went on a Saturday night. Making reservations was very easy (I would recommend making reservations for those who would like to try this spot on a Saturday night). I had the Rabo Encedido, which is oxtails with rice. It was excellent!!! I also tried both the traditional, and famous Rasberry Mojitos. Although the drinks were a little on the expensive side ($10 a pop!), I enjoyed every bit of this dining experience. As far as atmosphere and ambience goes, it was pretty good too. If you are looking for more of an intimate dining experience, ask to be seated downstairs. Upstairs is full of more hustle and bustle, with the comers-and-goers as well as the live band. The only downfall is that the music from the speakers set up downstairs was a little too loud. I found myself shouting at times to be heard by the others I was dining with. Nevertheless, I had a good time.

Disappointed
Palomilla steak was fatty; almost unheard of in Miami. Appetizers were good. Service is slow and the main courses lacked flavor. Still waiting for authentic, delicious cuban in the city.

We love this place
My husband and I always like to try new places, but we always find ourselves coming back to Azucar! Their mojitos are excellent and Sangria is very good too! Everything we have ever tried has been very tasty. The atmosphere is great - usually very crowded and the cuban music is very upbeat. I would highly recommend to anyone!
