Very Satisfied
I supposed this place has changed quite a bit since some of the other reviews below. I recently moved to the Inwood area and was in search for a few key places. I accidentally came across Guadalupe and I absolutely LOVED it. The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing and best of all- the service was incredible. I was incredibly satisfied and looked forward to more visits in the future. I went back again and was still impressed with the food, service and overall environment. I recommend this restaurant to anyone and look forward to visiting again.

Amazing Brunch
Went for brunch yesterday. The Chicken Mexicana was incredible. And the price was just as incredible. $12.95 including a cocktail. Would definetly recommend this to anyone.

Poor service drags down a cute place with decent food
Food - 4 stars, Service - 0 stars. Some friends and I had dinner here in December 2008. It was a pleasant find for the neighborhood. Decor was cozy and low key. Unfortunately, the service left a LOT to be desired. The restaurant was more than half empty, and my party was one of the first to arrive. We were seated at 7:30 and did not receive our entrees until almost 10 PM! After waiting almost an hour for our food, and realizing that the parties all around us had received theirs, (they arrived after us), we asked the waiter where our food was. We watched the chef inside the kitchen twiddle his thumbs for the past hour. Turns out, our order was never even delivered, and he blamed the computer. The fact that the order was written down didn't seem to matter. He took our order again. You would think that the manager or waiter would at least comp a beverage, dessert or send an appetizer for the wait, but he didn't. We had to ask for water refills several times. I asked for more salsa and chips, to which I received an eye roll. I had to ask for it again a few times before the runner gave me a rude "it's over there", indicating the other side of the restaurant. (If it was ready, and the table had not seen any service for over an hour, what was he waiting for?) It just added insult to injury. I had a great grilled corn appetizer and short rib entree. The chips with the corn salsa was a nice alternative to the tomato kind one usually gets. The Vera Cruz margarita hit the spot. I REALLY wanted to like this restaurant. This neighborhood needs more cute places. However, the impression I left with was that the staff just doesn't care about business or customers. Doesn't exactly make me want to come back does it?

So Disappointing
I really wanted to love this place, as there are so few restaurants in the neighborhood. When they first opened, they were decent, and I have had occasional adequate meals there, but the food is inconsistent and the service is consistently poor. The last time I went we were one of only two table in the place, and our server forgot to put our order in. He didn't remember until 1/2 hour later, when we were sitting at the table staring at him while he was hanging out chatting with the cooks. I've been many times, in the hopes that they will get it together, but my patience has run out.

Completely Dissappointed!
My wife & I went there for their first valentine dinner special & our last! The tables are on top of each other. The service was poor, soup was cold as well as the main course.. Never again! The drinks were good but that's all. We waited over thirty minutes for our orders that were served cold!

beware of the Mexican salad
I have been here multiple times and really enjoy their salsa, salad, and entrees. This time I ordered their Mexican salad like I have done many times before. Only the salad that I got was NOT what was advertised. (I got lettuce, tomato, and avocado slices instead of lettuce, black beans, queso fresco, chickpeas, almonds, and tortilla strips) When I asked about it, the waiter went to ask the kitchen and simply came back to apologize without explanation. I was not pleased. I finally had to flag someone else down to look into why I couldn't get the salad I ordered. He told me the kitchen does not make that salad anymore. Shame on them for not taking it off the menu or the waiter not knowing what the kitchen does and does not make. I was not charged for the salad and the waiter came back to apologize after the meal. However, I am not sure I want to go back.

Might be my biggest surprise
I definitely thought this place was going to be an overpriced yuppie-fest, but I was delightfully surprised. Personally, I don't think there is a better place in Inwood to get Mojitos, or Caipirinhas. Yes this place has a price tag, but nothing different than UWS or even places on Dyckman. Without a doubt, as a place to get high quality mixed drinks with friends, I would choose Guadalupe over Il Sole or Mamajuana. As for food, I loved the two times I got entrees...but am not too big on the appetizers.
