    So rude.

Heaven forbid you aren't a regular -- the owner (I think) is so rude to customers. Their "success" has gotten to their head and act as if you are lucky to go there. They have lost the fundamentals behind the customer/owner relationship.

    Never going there again...

My friend and I went there to try this so called best pizza in New York and the experience wasn't that pleasant! I didn't feel the love in this place... Our waiter was cool, so I'm not complaining about him. The pizza was good but not worth the hour wait. What really pissed me off about this place is that our check was brought to us with out us asking for it. The couple next to us had already finished eating when we got there, they were sitting there engaged in conversation...meanwhile we were still eating and the check was thrown on the table. How would you have taken that? I felt like I was being rushed out the door. The other couple next to us asked for their check, something we weren't given the chance to do. When I was ready to leave, the older man that greeted everyone didn't say anything to us; I heard him ask "how was it?" to several people as they left the restaurant, guess he didn't like us. Would not go again, they could have been more friendly, I didn't feel comfortable.

Worst Attitude Ever, Pizza Nazis, No Pizza for you...

I have lived in downtown Brooklyn and was a loyal customer at Grimaldi's for 10 years I will never go back again and will tell everyone I can not to also. We went after a funeral, we were all dressed in black and when the bill came we made an error in our calculation because we were preoccupied with the death in our family. The German Host came over and started yelling at us, telling us, "My men need to get paid", when we told him it was just an error and we had just come from a funeral, he told us, "that's not my problem."

    Please Read This

OK, If you want to read everyone elses 1500 word synopsis on Grimaldis and take their word, you are more than welcome; however, i still highly suggest going here at least once, if for no other reason just to say you have. An even better reason is to get you down into the DUMBO area and see a view of the city you rarely get to picture. We brought our family from Italy here because they wanted to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Yes the line sucks; it will take exactly one hour of wait. Yes the head guy is a bit strong headed and hes probably in the mafia but who cares. In the end, the pizza here IS fantastic and once you sit down, you wont be dissapointed. Plus the price for 6 people was NOT bad; $92 for three pizzas and beers for everyone. In the end, I think its great and the people on this page are completely in the wrong; but, go to Grimaldis, wait in line, eat the food and make your own damn decision. I promise you wount be dissapointed.

Don't believe the hype, it's just a tourist trap!

I think the only reason people rave about the pizza at this place is because they have to wait over an hour to eat there so by that point they are starving and will eat anything and think it's "amazing" (that includes slightly burnt overated pizza i.e. Grimaldi's pizza!) Don't get me wrong the pizza is decent but it is NOT worth the 1 and hlf hour wait and definitely was NOT THE BEST PIZZA IN NY.

    OVER-RATED

this sort of place proves how people want to believe in somthing. the pizza is absolutly mediocre. Dont get me wrong it tastes real good but so does the brick oven place down the block from me. People go here to wait in line for an hour for an average pizza pie, to say that they went to Grimalidis today and "oh how good it is you cant get pizza like it anywhere" yeah right, save it. the service is rude but thats no suprise its not what you go for. In fact it adds to the expierince people go for which seems to be Authenticity! ha what a joke there, its as authentic and overated as DUMBO the area its located

    It's Good - Not Great.

Grimaldi's is most definitely good pizza. It is definitely not the best pizza I have ever had, nor is it the best pizza in NYC (or even in Brooklyn). The line is ridiculous, the service is rude, and the restaurant is cramped. It is always best to order to-go. I have eaten there only a few times but i do feel that they undercook their pies and have a lack of substance in their sauce. Their cheese is quite tasty - it's sweet but lacks zing. If you're in the mood for good pizza, sure, hit up Grimaldi's. But i'd go elsewhere if you're looking for an earth-shattering experience.
