    my go-to

It says something when a person goes to a restaurant as often as we do. Great go-to for any meal. Sandwiches are always the best, but little beats the coffee. Sadly Grey Dog's has ruined me for all other coffee I try. And to the last reviewer... I know there are times when orders can get mixed up, but I have to add that we order from GD's a minimum of once a week and have never had a wrong order.

    consistently screw up your order

i used to go here all the time. it has completely gone down hill. they screw up your order every single time. i ordered the chicken, mozzerella, pesto and tomato sandwich and i got chicken on toast with chunks of garlic. seriously. no mozzerella, no pesto, no tomato. no kidding.

    Best Cappuccino Anywhere!

I have had cappuccinos all over Manhattan, Arthur Ave. and at home after roasting and grinding my beans. Nothing compares to what is experienced here! Forget the food and go with the cap!

    whats not to like

large delicious menu, excellent coffee products, w/ a very homey atmosphere.... and its a little coffee spot on an quiet street in the village. They even have a good (small) selection of beer. Tip, you'll be happy if you save room for dessert! As far as all these reviews that reference the pricey menu? well... first of all it's def not! and if you think it is, drink another cup of Joe, you're in NYC, wakeup! It cost money to keep these type of places open.

not as cool as they want you to believe it is

Food and atmosphere at the new grey dog on university are close to that of their first and original on carmine that attracted and made me a fan. But the new grey dog is not the "cool" place under the surface as the original. There is a sense of sell out to commercialism with hovering staff waiting like vultures to take your unfinished meal. Not a "cool" vibe....and too pushy while dressing like hippies. For the prices charged, which is not the problem for their product, you should make your customers feel a little more welcome once they have left the courteous cashiers.

    Cute little sandwich place

Somewhat overpriced, but makes up in laid back, cute, and friendly environment. Great place to catch up with an old friend or casual date. The sandwiches are delicious, sides are lacking, and the coffee is very good. Overall, I'd definitely go back.

    too pricey

I agree with the review below. I've been coming to Grey Dog's for about 8 years. The food is good, the atmosphere is great, the people are friendly. Everything is a little expensive, and honestly I wouldnt mind, except that they charge $10 for a sandwich that comes with a side of crushed, greasy potato chips! If they could toss together some greens, maybe some chopped veggies, or at least some gourmet chips, it would be a marked improvement.
