Thank you for cooking for taste and not a handful of people! Might I suggest you get your vegetarian fries there and let a chef cook!

Having heard about this restaurant from friends, we were excited to try it. However, based on some of the reviews on here (although most are over a year old) we were skeptical. Deciding to take our friends recommendation, we headed out to the Flatiron to dine at Greensquare Tavern. The atmosphere is cozy. The staff was extremely friendly, unpretentious and very helpful. We sat in a corner table in the dining room. The room was filled, but didn't feel overcrowded. We were treated to a sumptuous Scallop apertif by Chef Ryan. It was grilled to perfection-melted in our mouths..it sat atop the most tasty Kale I've eaten in a while. We decided to sample as much of the menu as possible, so we shared 6 dishes..including the dip platter for 2... Although only my friend ate the Grilled Octopus -the servings were large enough for us all to feel completely satiated. There were 3 unique combinations of t Facacia bread samplers..The best among them, was inspiring, with Bacon over a creamy butternut squash...superb!! Meatballs in marinara sauce..tasty and substantial, Short rib lettuce wraps (both wives LOVED this), Succulent Duck Breast (the wife declined this one)and the Roasted Chicken, rounded our tasting. We had a delicious Cabernet to go with our meal (the managers suggestion, sorry but I did forget the name..but it was fairly priced and went nicely with all our food. All in all we were quite pleased. We will be returning...soon!

I've eaten at the restaurant numerous times at lunch time and it was delicious, so I kept coming back for the vegan burger. The last visit, it was extremely noisy, could not have a conversation and the vegan burger was disappointing, along with the expired greens that accompanied it, and it was served on an egg bun on the whole grain bun advertised, so it wasn't vegan. We told the waiter, who let the manager know, and called the chef to speak with us. It was awkward, but he comped the sandwiches, which was very nice. I hope the quality improves, as it is a nice restaurant.

I was excited to try this restaurant as I heard they had a good brunch and several vegetarian/vegan options. We walked in on a Saturday night at about 8:10 pm. Looking into the restaurant and even once inside, it looked completely empty. We were taken to a table towards the back of the restaurant. If I wasn't with someone who'd been there before, I probably would've left - it's not a great sign to be empty at this time of the night. However, there were a handful of people seated in the back. I thought it strange to seat them all out of view. Anyway, I ordered the Vegan Stew. It had no seasoning, and the portion was tiny. It didn't have any kale (which was listed as one of the first ingredients) and just three leaves of spinach. It was also ridiculously priced at $20. It was basically an unseasoned small soup bowl filled with beans. It was something I would expect from a can of Progresso, but the Progresso would've at least been seasoned. Did I mention it was $20? I left hungry and felt completely taken.

After walking by this restaurant numerous times, I finally stopped in last weekend. The manager was so accommodating of our double stroller (twins!) and the staff really made us feel welcome. But the best part was that our dinner was great - enough so that I decided to go back a few days later sans kids to try their breakfast with a friend. Again, the service and quality of food exceeded my expectations. Give it a try if you haven't already.

When I found out that they cook their fries in grass-fed beef fat I rejoiced! Would that vegan prefer gmo canola or gmo soybean oil instead? This is the best possible place to go in south midtown. This place is amazing...go, go now. Amazing values for lunch as well.

Greensquare Tavern is a really cute place and the service was great during our lunch yesterday. The server was so friendly. My complaint is that Greensquare Tavern fries their french fries in beef fat - yuck. Please change that. Your veggie burger is really good, and would be even better if one could get a side of french fries w/their veggie burger. I mean, burger and fries go well together, yes? Why offer a veggie burger, that you label as "vegan", and then only have french fries cooked in beef fat? Weird.
