In the vast foodie wasteland of Times Square lies Green Symphony. Through no fault of my own I have a ton of food intolerances and it's just so relieving to be able to go to Green Symphony and feel safe. Everything is well labeled, I can always count on getting a healthy, well-prepared, yummy meal. The owner is so friendly, the selection is so vast for such a small space and and the prices are just fine. I wish I could get the cook to teach me how to do those tamari roasted mushrooms, I always have to toss a few into my lunch. Thanks Green Symphony for being my oasis in the middle of an overpriced tourist ridden nightmare like Times Square!

My favorite lunch place in the area. I have yet to try everything- still working on it! The buffet is a little expensive, but the quality is incredible. The smoothies are good too but not very thick- if you want a smoothie that will fill you up go to Juice Generation on 9th between 45th and 46th. The soups (love split pea) and wraps are great as are the baked goods. They make eating a cookie feel healthy. And it's not just for vegetarians, but it will make you consider converting.

I have only ordered delivery from them and I was a bit on a budget so I ordered a wrap - mine was the Pesto Chicken wrap (I think that is what it is called). Wow! It is soooooo good! Normally I will not rate a restaurant but I had to just come on and talk about it. It came cold - but I just removed the foil, popped it into our microwave for about 45 seconds...Hmmmmm! Highly recommend it...plus their korean food (bibimbop) is not so bad either!

The food is healthy, great tasting, relatively cheap and delivered! What more do you want?

My coworker and I felt like eating healthy for once and randomly found this vegetarian place. We're both not used to eating "healthy food" and were seriously impressed by the selection and taste! The hot and cold bar buffets were amazing and cheap. We'll definitely be adding this place in as one of our lunch spots.

The best in the area, bar none. A little higher per pound for the hot/cold bar, true -- a generous helping of myriad flavors and textures will run you a well-worth-it $9-10, weighed at the register. Garbanzos, curries, fresh collards, turkey and chicken stews, beef peeks in now and then, frequent & fresh fish options, yams and other unexpected dishes in delicious & original arrangements. Plenty of offerings on the salad horizon -- usuals like greek and hummus, tabbouleh. Get this -- even the tuna ain't out the can! Lip-smacking bean salad, tofu/green pea combo, original roasted corn, beets, 2-3 chicken salad variants (chunks interspersed with other neighbors, not mayo glop). Sprouts have a presence. I don't do the wraps, but they are legion and fresh -- the turnover is quite high. Good, small, pre-packed fruit salad -- heavy on the cantaloupe. Tons of smoothies, very inventive and packed with goodness. Can add many boosts to them. As small as Manhattan can imagine. 6 tables? Down the street from the old NYT bldg, one block off Times Sq. Closed Sat. Maximally-busy at lunch hr rush. Go after rush or at about 1130 when they seem to put out the freshness of the day. Pleasant, quick staff. No soda -- this is healthy food, but there are tons of soft variants, waters (emphasis on the plural), yogurts, juices. Well worth it -- a healthy, brilliant area gem.

Every time I come here intending to get just a sandwich I just can not resist the hot/cold food selection. Most Mid-Town lunch buffet places make me feel like I'm back at my college cafeteria, with a wide selection of identically flavorless food. Green Symphony has saved me from this tongue-numbing deja-vu. Their rotating selection of Indian, Mexican, Asian, traditional American and other entrees are as good as home made. Always delicately seasoned and flavorful, as if each were made to serve four intstead of forty. But (be warned) this is only an occassional treat for me because it costs about 50% more per pound than the typical lunch buffet--I have heard peole gasping at the register--though the price is WELL worth it (though not affordable for every day) because the quality of the food is UNMATCHED. Even if you are not on a diet/vegetarian/health conscious, it is worth checking out.
