In our Family since the 40's
My parents counted on the Green Kitchen in the 40's and 50's for great consistent diner food with wonderful service and fabulous prices. When my husband and I moved to the upper east side we stumbled upon this same great spot, and came to rely on it for delicious, affordable, and fantastic food with great service even late night! Try the rum punch, it's FABULOUS! We have even come back for family dinners!

Good quality diner food , bad phone manner atitude
Rude , un friendly attitude while taking delivery orders .....they need to change that quickly ......... otherwise good solid food

best diner in area
They have good, consistent food and waiters who really care. In a City of homogeneous diners, this one stands out.

Great diner food!
This is definitely my favorite diner on the UES. If you're eating in, it's very clean and service is speedy. We order delivery from Green Kitchen frequently and have never waited long or had any mistakes on our order. Food is consistently good, portions are huge, good value overall!

Subpar
Poor service-I've ordered delivery twice and both times the order was wrong and the man who answered the telephone was incredibly rude. Food was overcooked and the fries were staler than yesterdays bread. Will never order from there again.

Good diner with consistent food and service
For the price, this is a great and consistent diner! Their menu is incredibly varied, and the prices are reasonable. Every time I make special requests, they follow them precisely. Delivery is speedy at all times of day and they are generous with their portions. No, it's not gourmet, but for a diner- they're pretty top notch.

high prices
Just got delivery - ordered a turkey burger deluxe - online price was $8.00. When the delivery man came - the total was $11.50. When I called to complain - I was told they "just raised the prices last week." When I asked how a TB could go up $3.50 - he said, "lady, what do you want me to do?" UNBELIEVABLE. With tip, I just paid $14.50 for a TB and fries.
