We go here all the time. It's our favorite local restaurant. The food is great! The portions are large and we have always found the staff to be really nice. We love the retsina too! Our favorites are the lamb kebabs and the chicken souvlaki. Be sure to get the Greek fries. They're the best!

After reading some reviews of this restaurant from this website, we gave it a try. But very disappointed, the food was overcooked and tasteless. The kalamarakia was rubbery. The taramosalata was salty. The Bakaliaros Skordalia was too dry and bland. The only food that we found up to our standards was the free pita and the mashed potato that came with the Bakaliaros Skordalia.

We order all the time for the food, but the people who answer the phone can be down right rude. If they were not right around the corner and didn't have a decent chef I would have told her to go jump in the river a long time ago.

We were so excited to try this place. It is always packed with people and has a fun looking environment. But we had very subpar service. Nobody there speaks english. We asked for a menu and we got selzer water, we asked for a check and we got a refills, we asked for a fork and got a knife. You get the picture. The food was okay.

The Greek Kitchen is one of the best values in NYC. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is excellent and the atmosphere warm and inviting. The fish platter offered as an appetizer is a meal in itself. The moussaka is wonderful; the grilled shrimp cooked to perfection; the spinach sauted to perfection. Within walking distance from Lincoln Center and the theater district, The Greek Kitchen is not a restaurant to be overlooked.

The food is great and the service is inconsistant at best - one time they are great, the other they are rude and slow. This place is authentic greek.

Three of us had lunch on Saturday 2/6/05 and we enjoyed the food. The fried co with garlic sauce was great and light but they could have put more garlic in the sauce. The service was attentive and there was a party of some 40 people so you would think you will never get a waiter but they did check our table to make sure we were happy. The prices were within reason and good value for the quality of the food.
