    Quality Way Down

Th is used to be a reliable neighborhood joint to get some quick Chinese takeout of moderate quality. For the past several years, however, its become a low quality greasy spoon. Almost all the standard wok stir fries taste alike, and the meat and veggies are second-rate. Seasoning is the same for all dishes: Hunan style, Szechuan style, whatever, its all going to taste the same, and not very good. Dishes labeled as "spicy" are not, and everything has been blandly homogenized to fit, I guess, what they conceive of what they can get away with with their non-Chinese clientele. General Tso's dishes are a treacly, molasses mess. Soup broths are watery and tasteless. Egg rolls are soggy. The rice tastes like it was made last week. A few of the chef's specials are still good, like the wor shu duck, but this doesn't make up for the overwhelming number of "chicken with," "beef with," "shrimp with," etc wok stir fries that all taste the same. What they have going for them is their location, a convenient place to stop on the way home from the 86th St. subway station, and the fact that almost all the other quick Chinese takeouts in the neighborhood have closed.

    YUCK

I kinda had a feeling from some of the reviews....especially those swearing by the fried chicken wings with hot sauce and those using lingo like mu-nay, that this place was cheap and for the poorer younger set, but probably not high quality. Sesame chicken was fried dark meat, beef and brocolli was chewy beyond edible and the won-ton soup had zero flavor. Way too many other much better chinese option for just a few more bucks to give this place another go.

    Well...

Let me begin by saying that I HEART Chinese food, and that I'm not at all picky. That said, everything had this odd sweet taste to it, which does not make for a delicious hot and sour soup. Also, the fried wonton was made with a thick, almost-sweet dough (that wasn't crispy, to be frank) and hardly any filling. But I did enjoy my General Tso's Chicken and plain fried rice. So I guess this is a half WIN or half FAIL, depending on your outlook on life.

ok so its no shun lee... but delicious and cheap it is

THIS IS NOT THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN TOWN. I will not lie. But if you are looking for awesome American "Chinese" on the upper east side look no further. This place IS a little hole in the wall, with plenty of things to stay away from, (the dumplings for one). But believe me when i say this, their fried chicken wings are the TRUTH. They must dip them in crack (i do not condone the use of crack) because they taste like angel wings. If i were a chicken i would go cannibal for them bitches. And extra hot sauce is a must, cause 2 packs aint enough. The other fare is good, cant speak as highly because i only get the wings, and occasionally a side of lo mien, also good. But lets be real folks you don't click on a place called Great Wall expecting the best Asian fusion gastreau-scene in the city. Thats not what they are. What they are is DAMN GOOD quick Chinese take out place. But just a warning: this is not the place to be adventurous, DON'T go looking for something you have never heard of, because you might be disappointed. Stay hungry...

    Excellent food!! Good price!!

This place is the best place to go to for great Chinese fast food! 1) The food is NOT greasy like most chinese fast food restaurants 2) They have an excellent healthy menu for those watching their weight 3) The staff is always pleasant when I go there. This place is worth the trip. Every dish I've tried has been delicious, almost like homestyle cooking. The only thing I'm not to keen on is the appearance of the restaurant - it looks a little rinky dink inside and there are only 2 tables to sit down at. But don't judge the food based on the appearance
