I've been going to the Great American Health Bar since 1985 and I still go almost every day for lunch and many times for dinner. The food is outstanding, great quality, and healthy too. It's unbelievable how diverse the menu is and there's truly something for everybody. I personally think their Spinach Ricotta Panini is one of the best dishes in all of NYC. Their Salad Bar is also of the highest quality and can't be matched. Love this place!

We were overwhelmed by the smell of cleaning fluids while waiting for our food. We had to move to get away from the order. The manager was unconcerned about “our” problem.

I love this restaurant! I was there yesterday. We ordered lentil soup which came hot although my boyfriend likes it extra hot, and it was not a problem for the waiter to take it back to the kitchen to make it the way he likes it. We also ordered the chili, which comes with a nice salad and bread. For dessert we ordered frozen yogurt and the waiter brought chocolate chips for us that we did not pay for. The waiters are all very friendly to us. We have been going regularly for the past year. I love the variety of food on the menu. Another favorite is the tortellini with shitake mushrooms and spinach in cream sauce. It's great!

I am surprised about some of the reviews I saw on this page. I have been a regular customer for the past 10 years and every time I go there the restaurant is busy and I have tried many other restaurants in that area and you cannot compare any of the other restaurants to this. The food is delicious and the service most of the time is very friendly and I have also met many celebrities at this restaurant. The atmosphere is pretty good and I love this restaurant so if you are around that area I recommend this restaurant.

I used to eat the Spinach Burger here several times a week because I loved it and would put up with the rude service and thier absurd rules (below). But recently I realized their food is just not healthy AT ALL. The spinach burger is DEEP FRIED, as are their "light fries". The food is tasty but absolutley nothing about it is healthy - they really should take that out of the restaurant title. I will never eat here again. RULES: 1. it's more expensive to dine in the restaurant than to take out, everything goes up at least $2.00 2. you only get a free soup if you order in the restaurant and take the food out. If you call in your take out order, no free soup is allowed.

I generally liked the food, although it's not a place you go to unless you like health food. The service is pretty poor. They have a credit card terminal, but for takeout orders you can't use it and the cashier is rude if you even ask.

Delivery is always fast and nothing is ever forgotten! But the food... is disappointing. The vegetables are never fresh and the food tastes generally bland. Healthy food can taste good and should... but not so much from here. The prices are high but they give heaping portions of food. The falafels are great, but that might be it.
