Great food but expensive
This place has very good food but its expensive. I ordered a small buffalo wings and a small salad and my order came out to like almost 20 dollars. Another day I ordered just a chicken parmigiana sandwich and it was 10 dollars. Must say it was the best chicken parmigiana sandwich i have ever tasted though and huge one too. the service isn't all that good, they charged for a bottle of water i asked for but I didn't receive it in my order. overall the food is far the best i tasted. thumps up for this restaurants.

Good pizza, bad phone order
Pizza was the best I've had in Inwood/Washington Heights; however, the order was almost completely wrong. I ordered a 16" pizza with prosciutto and artichokes and received an 18" with artichokes only. I was charged for the larger pizza with full toppings. Wish they could have just listened and I would have been satisfied

Wow
Ordered almost 85 dollars worth of food. Chicken Cesar salad ended up being a house salad, pasta had hardly any sauce on it. They sent 2 packs of utensils when we ordered so much food. Never ordering from there again. Sorry!

For the neighborhood
Their food quality is great when compared to the other pizzerias in Inwood, but its still nothing like traditional NYC pizza. The big plus is freshness. They do serve fresh food, unlike much of the area, and the store is always clean inside. Service is way better in store, they never seem to have anyone who knows how to take phone orders and they are a little pricy for a pizzeria this far above 86th. The slices are thin and often doughy so you have to get well done.

Willing to give it another chance
I love the pizza. It's the best pizza you can get in Inwood. But good luck getting it! Grandpa's pizza is never my first choice, even though they make the best pizza, because you can die of starvation waiting for your delivery. It sounds like things have changed so maybe I'll call them instead of one of the chain pizza places next time.

Best delivery pizza in Inwood!
When I first moved to Inwood 4.5 years ago, I was told the best pizza in the neighborhood was at Grandpa's. If you like thin crust brick-oven pizza, I completely agree. However, the phone service/delivery times used to be terrible (see previous reviews). I once waited 1 hour 45 mins for my pizza. The woman they used to have answer the phones was also not very nice. But, they listened to people's complaints! And now the delivery is usually about 30-40 mins, (I live 13 blocks away) sometimes much faster. The woman they have answering the phone is so pleasant and sweet, you can tell she's smiling. The pizza is still good, their menu has expanded to offer quite a few things that are not on this menupages menu, so when you order, get a full menu. I agree with previous reviewers. The wheat pizza is really good! As is the baked ziti. I like the Chocolate Mousse Cake but really don't like the cheesecake, it seemed dry/too cheesy the one time I tried it, but that was years ago, so it may be better now, too.

Awesome Pizza, Service Getting Better
Called tonight to place a delivery order and was prepared to give the phone girl a piece of my mind if she said they don't deliver to my address. I can see from other reviews that they have delivered as far as the 180s, so not sure what the big deal is and why sometimes they won't. Pleased to report that the girl answering the phone was pleasant. This is honestly the best pizza in the neighborhood so I am glad to see that the new management has made some positive changes.
