Just tried this place for the first time with a couple of friends from work and was pretty pleased. The owner stopped by our table a couple of times and talked a bit about the place, how they prepare the food, where they get their ingredients, etc. He brought us some samples of the slaw and onion rings and I'll def. be ordering those next time. We all had burgers and fries and all agreed they were delicious. One minor thing to note is that they were all well done. We weren't asked how we wanted them cooked but then again none of us specified either. The decor is inviting and comfortable and the everything was super clean, restroom included. I definitely recommend Grandma's. I'm glad we discovered it. We will be going back.

I have been to Grandma's House several times now and have always had a great dining experience. What sets this restaurant apart from the other burger, fries and ribs places all over the city is the quality and preparation of everything made there. I have been to Shake Shack and there is no comparison between those burgers and Grandma's House. The hambigger is not flattened but full and juicy and really made to order. The ribs fall off the bone and the sauces are different and delicious. Usually there isn't much to say about onion rings - but here they are sweet and in a soft but crunchy batter. I couldn't resist the chocolate egg cream to accompany everything! The decor is unique and homey, not sterile or pretentious and it fits the name. Prices are good especially considering that the meats used are top quality. You can tell the difference right away - even down to the sausages and bacon! I highly recommend Grandma's House for good home style cooking. A real asset for the Seaport and the city!!

We live in the neighborhood and were anxious to try the "new place" It is a kitchy looking place, but upon sitting down on a hard wooden both I noticed I was very high up and could barely reach the table to eat. The waiter said the booths were built up for kids. Well I didn't see many kids there and was so uncomfortable I switched seats with my Husband. He was just as uncomfortable. We waited 1/2 hr and the waiter brought us the wrong order and looked totally confused when I told him. I told the owner that we would pay for our coffee and leave if our order had not been put in He assured me it was and said he would take the mac and cheese off our bill, it was on him. Well our food arrived, a rather small dried out hambigger on a twisted pretzel roll and my skillet veggie omelet. The omelet was burned and sticking to the pan had no taste at all. The burger was dry and grizzly. The mac and cheese was o.k. The owner must have stopped by our table 5 times to lecture us on pesticides and buying all American ingredients. It was bordering on intrusive. The bill came to $30.00 for a burger (not a deluxe there is no such thing everything a la carte) and an omelet and 2 cups of coffee. $2.50 a cup. I won't go back. So not worth the price when I can walk a block away and have a fabulous burger with all the fixins for a lot less.

Took my mother over to the city for her birthday lunch. We werent sure where to go with two kids for lunch in the seaport area. We stumbled onto Grandmas House. Fitting since we took my mother for her bday with her gandchildren. Well what we got was a local gem in such a touristy spot in the city. The decor is cozy and inviting. The food is real and delicious! Not the typical overpriced frozen fair you would expect downtown. We absolutely loved it! The owner and staff were like chatting with old friends. It was the most comfortable eating experience you can possibly have in the big city. If you live in the city or nearby or on vacation and are looking for a place to eat where you feel right at home then check this place out. Thanks for a great memory for mom/gandma's birthday. We'll be back often!

We just had the most delicious brunch at Grandma's House. The food was outstanding- my boyfriend got the signature ribs (amazing!) and i had an omelette that was out of this world. The atmosphere couldn't be sweeter or more comfortable. We especially loved the special touches like authentic Gus's pickles and real egg creams. we can't wait to go back!

Had a fantastic dinner here tonight. The place has only been open for a little over a week or so, and word of mouth is still catching on, so it wasn't too busy. But that actually worked out nicely, as one of the owners sat with us for quite a while talking about his ambitions for the business and what his plans are for the future, including an expanded menu effective Labor Day. The "preview menu" is largely burgers (of all varieties), ribs, etc., and some desserts. I had the baby back ribs, which were surprisingly good. In fact, they were pretty much the most outstanding baby back ribs I've ever had. I never once used a knife. I requested them dry, with the sauce on the side, and they were absolutely perfect. My husband had a burger, which he chose to have served on a pretzel roll. He loved it. We also had a a great salad, which was very simple, and was largely, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms, dressed in an incredibly light and delicious buttermilk ranch-type dressing. The bucket of french fries was great, but the onion rings which are battered and dipped in crushed potato chips? OUT OF CONTROL good. We really enjoyed ourselves. The service was very nice and the waitress very friendly and accommodating. And we appreciated the time the owner spent with us. He clearly cares deeply for quality and sources his ingredients from the very best places. He also has great enthusiasm for the neighborhood. We are looking forward to going back for breakfast some day, and for the expanded menu after Labor Day, including beef ribs.

I found this new neighborhood resturant a very nice change .You really don't feel like you are in NYC. I loved that everything in the place is made in the USA. Everything! I had the ribs which may have been the best I have ever had and my friend had the steak sandwich. He loved it. The owner seemed busy in his new place but still had time for a conversation. BTW the "American Frys" were great. This is definitely a place I will bring my kids. It was really kind of like your grandmothers house. Some of the deserts are brought in. Juniors cheesecake and NY's best black out cake. All made in the USA. Got to love it. Good luck see you with my three young kids.
