The food is terrific, and the extensive menu even includes a group of dishes served with truly fresh chicken (i.e.: it was alive that morning). One does not dine there for the atmosphere, and the staff can be rather gruff, but your water glass will never go unfilled, and for delivery you can't beat it.

Am I the only one that does not think the food here is that great? I've only ordered from here twice but both times it has been mediocre. This soup dumplings are only ok and do not compare to Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown. The other dishes I've tried have not tasted authentic.

This is among the best chinese food I've ever had. Try the soup dumplings. Just beware, the service isn't great and delivery can be very slow.

The service at this restaurant is poor and I wouldn't go back because of it. The food is very good, however. Order take out b/c you don't want to deal with the service. Our waitress started arguing with us when we told her that she delivered the wrong food to our table. We politely said that it wasn't what we ordered and she started yelling and telling us that we were wrong and to stop lying! It was almost funny... I have never been treated this way in a restaurant and the funniest part was to watch the table next to us try to flag her down to tell her that is was their food. People make mistakes, but I don't enjoy being yelled at when paying money for dinner. It is too bad because this would be a great spot if they could do something about the service.

Being a big fan of authentic Szechuan cuisine, this place is definitely the best Chinese in NYC. The head waiter at my favorite San Francisco Szechuan restaurant turned me onto it when I moved here. My friends & I go here about 2-3 a month. Anyone intimidated by the menu, take note of these recommendations: soup dumplings, 5-spice beef, cucumber salad, cold garlic chicken, ma-la beeef tendon, dry-fried string beans, water-boiled beef, auzhou chicken, stir-fried potatoes, beef w/ dry bean curd. I've never had trouble w/ the service but it could be because of my speaking Mandarin. Don't take it personally, just be assertive & ask for what you want. It's well worth it. Enjoy!

Price has gone up. Quality/Portions have gone down. Too bad b/c I used to order from them twice a week. Not anymore.
