Being a big fan of authentic Szechuan cuisine, this place is definitely the best Chinese in NYC. The head waiter at my favorite San Francisco Szechuan restaurant turned me onto it when I moved here. My friends & I go here about 2-3 a month. Anyone intimidated by the menu, take note of these recommendations: soup dumplings, 5-spice beef, cucumber salad, cold garlic chicken, ma-la beeef tendon, dry-fried string beans, water-boiled beef, auzhou chicken, stir-fried potatoes, beef w/ dry bean curd. I've never had trouble w/ the service but it could be because of my speaking Mandarin. Don't take it personally, just be assertive & ask for what you want. It's well worth it. Enjoy!

Price has gone up. Quality/Portions have gone down. Too bad b/c I used to order from them twice a week. Not anymore.

The food here is very good, and I'm lucky enough to live nearby--so I can get take out and avoid the hurried service. I've seen them literally clear plate away while you're eating!

Living nearby I was regular customer. The food is great especially if you take some of the specials at the back of the menu. Unfortunately the service is sooo terrible that I won't go back. It's not that they are not attentive (though they aren't) it's that they are so rude and condescending that you have a hard time blocking it out. Oh well, there are many other restaurants nearby!

This place, if they don't know you, treats newcomers poorly. We had to beg for a menu, service, water refills, and our lunch! It came late, but after everyone else around us had been sat and served. Too bad because the food was good. But I'm not sure it was worth it! The servers were condescending and just rude.

The food is good here, I'll give you that. What I will also say is that the management will purposefully deny you the lunch menu for the dinner menu at lunchtime. For unknowning customers, they pay full price for what others pay the lunch price. My friend caught this, and tried to have his check adjusted. The management simply accused him of not wanting to pay the $3! SO BEWARE. He didn't expect it from a restaurant that has such a good reputation.

Oh dear. The soup dumplings are amazing! They look like little volcanos and they taste like heaven. So it's kind of like volcanos in heaven! Weird! But beware not to burn your mouth! I've never gotten the same entree b/c there are so many interesting things to choose from. I usually dont like chinese food but I love this place. Yum!
