Yes, they have excellent American-Chinese food, but who wants that when you can have their even better and very authetic Sichuan dishes. The Sichuan cold noodles are excellent as are the Cheng Du spicy dumplings. And, the "spicy and aromatic" dishes are the bestespecially the diced fish. Be prepared for real spice, They do not cater to the American palate in their Sichuan dishes. They are actually spicy unlike most of the supposedly authentic Sichuan food in this city. You'll also notice most of the patrons are in fact Chinese. I know that's a silly thing to point out, but I do tend to think that the more authentic Chinese restaurants are patronized by Chinese people. I'm so happy to have this restaurant in midtown. (Also, their prices are GREAT!)

Tempted by the raving reviews posted outside the resturant from 2003 (oops) I picked up an order of spicy chicken with broccoli tonight. I think there is less salt in the Dead Sea then my dish. The dish was completely inedible. My lovely wife seconded. Good news: When I called the resturant, they offered to deliver and switch the dish. Unfortunately the replacement wasn't much better and went right in the trash. Good service. Not a good meal.

This is one of my favorite Chinese places in NYC. I usually order the pork fried rice, sesame chicken, and beef with broccoli. This restaurant also has a variety of Sichuan dishes. The prices are quite reasonable, too. I highly recommend Grand Sichuan.

I can't believe this outstanding Sichuan restaurant is in this location. Do not order the American style dishes. This is some of the best true Sichuan you are going to find. I dream about their fresh cod in sichuan peppercorn! Really exceptional.

I have been dining here for a year and the food has always been amazing. I can’t seem to find another place in the city that even compares. The wait staff is not the best but they do the job. I usually pick up so I am not sure about their delivery services, but the food is worth it.

My new favorite Chinese restaurant in NYC. Nice variety of "American" Chinese and authentic Chinese food. Been to Sichuan province a few times and this is as close to the real thing as possible. Most of the dishes are markedly different from each other and very tasty.Try the Sichuan menu but beware the *! (Hot= super spicy here!) Service is dour but brisk. Be prepared to move out of your seat (esp when it's busy which is most times) as soon as you're done.

You know when a place is good when the cliental is mostly Chinese. Try the “New Sichuan Food” section of the menu, but remember HOT MEANS HOT!
