Since GS opened just around the corner of my apartment, I and my boy friend go there at least twice a week. Where should we go tonight? We look at each other. GS! Let's be honest here. Where are the decent chinese places in West Village? Please let me know if you know any other places like GS around here. I understand that they make some mistakes here and there, but I still love their food so much, I can pass little bit of clumsiness. However, I agree with Chong Qing Spicy Chicken. It's kind of funny that they put so many hot peppers there. So we don't order that dish. Our favorite is Boneless Spare Ribs, any noodles, Gui Zhou Spicy Chicken, Beef With Cumin Flavor, Eggplant With Garlic Sauce, Scallion Pancake, Sauteed Cured Dry Bean Curd. We are eating GS today also.

This place is nothing to rave about. My co worker ordered from GS last week and she went on and on about how great it was. She's a pretentious "Pescatarian" so that right there should have tipped me off that this place was going to kind of suck. I gave the food a 2.0 because really that's all it deserves. I'm thoroughly unimpressed. this is NYC and it's hard to find BAD chineese. Well, I found it.

It's just not good. Bland would be a compliment. The other locations serve the real deal, this place is flavorless. I wish they would get better.

I LOVE this restaurant! It has a really nice atmosphere and great prices. The food is delicious and you can literally get three dishes and an appetizer for less than $30. Amazing! I take everyone I know here.

... In comparison to the other GS outposts this branch is just plain tasteless, boring, and borderline. The dishes all seem to be missing ingredients that made GS special. Have ordered 3 times to give them a chance but each time the food is worse and worse. Go to another location b/c this restaurant is miserable.

We had to send back a vegetable roll and a bowl of soup as they were served cold. One entree was only just lukewarm, but I didn't have the energy to send that back, so I ate it. In addition, there was too much corn starch in both our entrees, and the tea was bitter. Disappointing after many good meals at the Chelsea branch.

Ordered the usual Sichuan hits from this location. Food was delivered cold and not nearly as spicy or interesting as they make it uptown. i hope they improve.
