I think I just discovered my favorite Chinese food restaurant of all time. If you like Spicy, it will test your limits. have a cold will clear you up. Or wnat the classic dish, what a taste treat. Flavorful, Great quality meats. When I look in the dictionary of what a Chinese restarunt is, there is a picture of this place. I feel like going here every day until I have taste tested entire menu. One star for the hot and sour soup. Rest of our meal was tasteless save for the overwhelming saltiness in our tofu dish. Got a side of ear splitting yelling from the kitchen, nice appetizer! The General Tso's chicken tasted of bottled sauce with fresh garlic chopped in, and the chicken was coated in a thick tasteless batter.

I have gotten takeout from Grand Sichiuan twice now and am very happy with restaurant. The wonton soup is tasty and the shrimp dishes are nice as well. The food is good and the prices are as well. I will definitely order from here again.

If you want really hot and spicy Sichuan food, this is a great place to go. Sichuan wonton with red oil and dan dan noodles with chili sauce were excellent as appetizers, as were the entrees: Chong Qing spicy shrimp and sauteed lamb with fresh ginger. Everything was very spicy and well prepared. The lamb was well trimmed, with no fat or gristle. Service was efficient. The decor is simple but pleasant.

Really great food. Fresh. Spicy and I love spice. Real Chinese food, not the usual "Empire" vibe. Huge menu. SOOO happy that this place is in the hood after 25 years of suffering with bad Chinese food around here!

We have gone down to Chelsea to eat at this place for 10 years after finding it on Chowhound by searching for best Chinese in NYC. I can't believe our good fortune that this place has opened on the UWS. Just ordered from them and the food came in 20 min and was as good as the 24th street location. Yay! Try these: crabmeat/pork soup dumplings, dry sauteed string beans with minced pork, Gui Zhou Spicy Chicken (although they didn't ask if we wanted fresh chicken like they do downtown). This last dish is super spicy. Love this place!

What a blessing for UWS Chinese food fans tofinally get a local restaurant that honors Chinese cooking! IMPORTANT! When you order, try the Sichuan dishes that are not seen on any other UWS Chinese menus. Do NOT - by force of habit! - order beef with broccoli. (Altho I'm sure they do a good job with even that mundane dish.) Indulge your taste buds with true Sichuan specialties (i.e. for a spicy dish, try the Sour String Beans with Minced Pork, or the MaPo Tofu with Minced Pork; or for a mild dish, try Red Cooking Pork with Chestnuts or the delicious Chinese vegetable, Loofah - a green vegetable with a melon -like texture! Wonderful! These dishes are just a sampling of the extensive and imaginative menu, and, I must say, that having had about 6 meals since the restaurant opened, every dish I've chosen has been a winner. It's SO important to support these eateries that offer AUTHENTIC foods, and I hope that both locals and visitors will indulge in the taste sensations that are available at Grand Sichuan on the UWS! Long may it thrive! Enjoy! P.S. Their delivery service is superb and the people so polite!
