Have been hitting this neighb diner for more than 40 years. Always reliable, decent, clean, hospitable, well-priced, etc etc. A neighborhood go-to. My first clue should have been 3 broiled chicken order-in dinners in a row over a period of 6-8 weeks. Previously, one of the best dinners in town -- turned into ridiculous. Chicken charred on one side, with the other side white, flaccid. In 2 out of the 3 cases, it was the underside charred, with topside the unappetizing side. All 3 times, the chicken half had been cleaved almost through. For what purpose? Who knows. The second and third of the 3 chicken events, I specifically requested that this was not done to the chicken -- fell on deaf ears. Late breakfast this morning. I was famished. They could have fed me anything and I would have smiled. What can you do to a plate of over-easy and sausage?? You wouldn't believe! Over easy eggs completely brown on one side. The other side never saw heat at all. Sausages so over cooked, completely wrinkled and BTW half the size of previous orders. Potatoes requested crispy and really brown -- never happened. Same luke warm beige they always are. The rye toast ice cold and hard enough to use as a weapon. The coffee, never arrived until half way thru and NOT hot. O, wait, did I mention the table? Tippier than any canoe I've ever met. The waiter's solution was to push it hard against the wall so my elbow hit the window every time I picked up my fork. Preferring to have breakfast in a canoe, I moved back it its former position.

    Don't send back your food

This used to be a great diner. We used to eat in or have delivery several times a week. The prices were reasonable and the portions large. Over the years the prices have gone up and they give you much less food. For example, an average-sized egg salad sandwich on wheat is $7.95. That's midtown tourist prices! Went in for breakfast and really stressed to the server to make my eggs well done. They did not arrive the way I requested and asked for more fire. Guess I upset the Master Chef, because they returned another order, was FULL OF EGG SHELLS.

    Good quality Diner friendly service

Good diner food with reasonable prices and worthy of a recommendation for people looking for just that. The service was on the mark and very friendly.

    Never fails...

I always order from there and unfortunately they never get the simplest orders right. My coworkers and i always get half the order sent to us but they always charge us full price. Its either eggs missing, or toast with no butter, juices missing..or an entire plate missing. It never fails..If u love to call them 3xs to finally eat 1 decent meal then hey go on and knock yourself out. lol

I live in the neighborhood, very much want to like this place, but everytime I go there the place is dirty, the staff is rude, the food is cold and the bill is way too high. Constant disappointment.
