    A gem!

Portions might be small, but that is because the food is so rich! If you don't try this place you are missing a true New York gem. Viva Italia!

    Loved this restaurant!

Went last Saturday night and absolutely loved it. Ambiance and service were flawless, food excellent, so traditional Italian and familiar, yet so unique in style and memorable. We had piadina with spinach, polpettine with parsley sauce, cheese gnocchi with black truffle, special guinea fawl terrine and gelato. Presentation with each dish was impeccabile. large, rectangular/oval white plates with items arranged artistically. Portion were just enough from the appetizers to the desserts. Add a nice bottle of Brunello, and our night was perfect. Highly recommend!

    Tiny portions/big prices

My husband and I had not eaten here in a couple years, and we were hugely disappointed on a visit last week. Our appetizer salads were tasty but were nothing special at $13-15 each. Entree portions were insultingly small, and were served on ridiculously oversized plates. My husband had the spareribs; I had a mahi mahi special. We were still hungry when we left. Needless to say, we will not be back.......

$150 meal for two...and left hungry

My boyfriend chose this restaurant based on the amazing reviews we had seen online. We came here for my birthday dinner and left very disappointed and very hungry. The restaurant has a cute setting, and is very romantic. We started out with the meatball appetizer. The plate was HUGE with four one-bite meatballs on it. There was no sauce and the meatballs were very plain. Knowing the portions were small, we decided to split a pasta dish and each got our own meat entree. We got the tortellini in a white cream sauce. The tortellini was good, but nothing to write home about. Once again, the portions were small, and the sauce tasted just like the sauce you could get in a jar. Next, our meat entrees came out. I got free range breaded chicken with prosciutto and roasted potatoes. The meal was pretty good, but something I could have easily thrown together at home. My boyfriend got the filet mignon which was the size of a cell phone. The meat had very little flavor and was very chewy. After our disappointing dinner we decided not to order dessert. All in all the restaurant was a huge disappointment. Out of all of the Italian restaurants in the city, this did not impress us at all.

    Best Italian!

Just went here with a few friends. They were so busy! It took them maybe 30 mins to seat us, but we didn't mind because it gave us a chance to sit at the bar and enjoy yummy "healthy" martinis pomegranate and organic vodka! And the wait was worth it... The food was wonderful. Rich, Italian flavors with a unique twist, like the cheese pecorino creme brulee or the reinterpretation of a caesar salad with mustard leaves. The wine list had a ton of great options. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great quality experience. A little more expensive than old Italian joint, but really worth it!

Food is great. However, very pricey.

    Good Food -Friendly

Definitely friendly - the mama gimick is a waste on me [but some may like it]... would have rather had more tables. Food better than decor... not a high end decor - go for the food. Pasta was very good... bar is nice and friendly bartender. Recommended to my daughter, so must be good or I will hear about it. Tall Blond best server - from Venice: take her wine recommendations.
