Gracie Mews Diner

The food is good if you are not on a budget or if you are there is someone else to share the bill with. You get plenty of food, so two people can share. However, ordering food is like going through a strict Daycamp. You feel like you are being rushed and the guy is very rude, impatient and disrespectful. That's said, I will leave it up to you.

I agree with the reviewer below. Really good fries. They cook them in vegetable oil, which is a nice break from heavy fries cooked in heavy animal fat. Don't get me wrong, I like my fatty fries, but once in a while, it's nice to have a healthy alternative to the norm. There isn't too much special about this place. It's a big diner, so it accommodates families quite well. They are fast, efficient and as polite as a fast paced diner can be. Good food, yet it is a bit pricey for standard diner fare.

Undoubtedly overpriced (but what isn't on the UES?) but has some great food and an extensive menu. I have friends from out of town who always request to go here. Doesn't have the greatest ambience but is definitely worth getting takeout.

I rarely review restaurants but this time I had to. While surfing I came across "our diner". Please let me set the record straight. This is A DINER. Food is good, service is fine, delivery is acceptable. If you want to be wow'd go somewhere else. IT'S A DINER. By the way, forget Stand and Shake Shack. Gracie Mews makes the best burgers in the city.

I've been going to this diner ever since I was a little girl and I remember it being a lot better then. The service now is pretty bad and the fries are disgusting - they taste like they were frozen and are hard and have zero taste. Very disappointed as this used to be my favorite diner.

I just moved to the neighborhood and this diner is super convenient, and the food is usually really tasty. I've had some pretty good experiences here, but also some really bad ones. I've talked to some guy who answer the phone a few times and he's very rude and curt, and I think that's what really bothers me the most. It makes me feel uncomfortable ordering delivery when the guy on the other end of the phone is patronizing and sounds annoyed by having to deal with you. I don't think it will stop me from dining in with Gracie Mews, but I would order much more often if the man who answers the phone wasn't there.

The food here is really good and always fresh; however the prices have gotten out of control. I used to come here all the time, but have stopped because it's so expensive. Overall, although the food is good, it's not worth the prices they charge. Go to a different diner.
