The garcie mews diner on 81st street and 1st avenue is absolutely the best diner in New York City. Ranging from great chicken ceaser wraps, decadent waffle sundaes, and in my opinion one of the best burgers the City has to offer, "The Mews" serves as a great local Diner. Do not let those words make you hesitant however, for Gracie is more than any mortal Diner, it towers over any foogayzee restaraunts in the yorkville and greaert east side area.

We live close by and eat here (and order out) often. The food is good, and the service is friendly enough for a diner (if a bit slow). Try the rosemary chicken. The best thing is that an entree comes with soup, salad and bread, so it really is a heck of a deal. We give it a thumbs up.

Gracie's never lets us down. The staff treats all as family, service is insanely prompt, and they make the best chocolate banana milkshakes in the world. Busy at all times, yet there's always a seat and never a wait. The perfect diner atmosphere.

It looked nice and it was late, but the food was poor. My order came incomplete and when I finally flagged down a waiter to refill my water and add the salsa he came back with a tiny plastic container filled with something suspiciously resembling barbecue sauce in consistency, color, and taste. The burger and bun were soggy too... definitely never go back considering the fact that there are other diners around...albeit without the high ceilings and decor I suppose.

We absolutely LOVE this place! It's great for meeting up with friends for brunch, lunch or dinner (or a late night snack). It's bright and light. Service is quick and food is delicious. I've been there thousands of times and have eaten is many other diners as well, but nothing compares. Recommended: Fries, Grandma's Pancakes, Linguine Bolognese, Four Seasons Omelette.

Excellent! Calling it diner food is an injustice. The fish is as good here as anywhere (broiled or grilled-for fancy go to Le Bernadin). Fresh vegetables and a good salad complete the deal. No better value for price and quality (as well as quantity) on the upper east side.

This is a typical 24 hour diner. The food is subpar, the staff serves just as needed. Why go anywhere else?
