Favorite neighborhood diner
Food is great for a diner. Service is quick. It's expensive and getting more so. I never feel ripped off, but I don't go as much as I used to because of it.

Neighborhood staple!
Truly a neighborhood staple... My wife and I order from here at lest 3 times a week. Wether it's a wrap your in the mood for, home cooked dinner or just a soup this place never fails to deliver!

Average Food NYC Prices
Having eating there for well over a decade I say that this diner is ok if 1)you order very basic foods, such as Tuna Fish, Grilled Cheese, Eggs, burgers and soup and 2) don't mind paying a few dollars more than you think you should. I've read on this board people saying the food is fantastic. Compared to what? Yes, if you are from Ethiopia. No way, if you are from NYC. The food is average and no better than the other diner's that are nearby, namely, the Green Kitchen, Restaurant 79 or The Silver Star Diner. However, the booths and during the day, light from the big windows make the experience much better the other diners. Compared to good diners in Manhattan, L.I. and N.J, Gracie Mews' food is average, with higher than average prices. However, with 2nd Ave Deli nearby and a bunch of new places, such as Boca on Second ave, all in the same price range for a complete dinner/meal, I cut back on diner food for better prepared and higher quality food.

So Rude
Tried ordering through seamless and after 30 mins I called to see if everything had went through okay. The guy could not have been more rude or dismissive to a simple inquiry. Almost immediately after hanging up, seamless web called me directly to say they too tried calling the restaurant and had the same treatment. I have been a regular customer, ordering at least once a week for the past 5 years but will never again be ordering delivery from Gracie Mews. Extremely disappointing!

The Best
I have been coming here fore 10 years, i have seen the transformation of this wonderful diner. yes it is a bit pricey, but worth every penny because of such good quality. Now with the outdoor seating, this place is a must! Definitely best diner UES, with the Mansion diner coming in second
