    what the hell happened?

Used to be one of my favorite places. Loved the food and the atmosphere, but the service has gone way downhill. A few months back, my wife and I went, even though we hadn't been for a while. Our server, Jennifer. remembered that my wife liked red and brought a couple tastes to the table, not just remembering my wife's name, but what she like to drink. Incredible, you never find such professional service. Well we went back and the place is not the same. If you want a bunch of servers who sit around talking to each other, this is your place. Couldn't get water refilled, bread went empty, and the guy seemed like he had better things to do. Was disappointed compared to what it had been. Not to mention we had to wait forever to get our check. If it wasn't for the coat check gilr, I don't think they even smiled. And heard some arguing in the kitchen. Who needsthis? Don't even waste your time.

    A taste of Italy

You should eat at this restaurant if you like or miss a great home cooked Italian meal like in the old days. The best lasagne in the city, better than mine.Every dish was excellent we also loved the grilled octopus and fried calamari. Ive been coming here for 11 years its about time I wrote this. The waitstaff is super warm and friendly. For what you get its are bargain in th city.

Charming place on the east side

My wife and I came from the west side on a reccomendation from our friends,We were happy to find such a wonderful restaurant. I really can't say enough about the delicious fresh food, friendly but not intrusive service and the warm rustic atmosphere. We plan on coming back more often even though it is a trip but well worth it. Try the pastas they are excellent especially the gnocchi.

    pleasant experience

My two friends and I actually followed a large group of people out of the movie theatre to this cozy restaurant. We took their advice and were happy we did. To start we ordered a bottle of wine from a great reasonably priced list. The waiter was nice enough to decant it for us. It was late so we ordered food to share. For starters we had stuffed chicken wings, smoked salmon flatbread and a ceasar. For entrees we had a lasagne, mushroom pizza and a grilled shrimp dish and I will say everything was delicious. Needless o say we found a nice spot and will be back.

    Getting tired

I have eaten here many times and each time it is getting more difficult to go back. The food is getting tired. The pizza is truly second class with its dough that tastes like cardboard. It cannot be hand made at the restaurant. The crust is too perfect (-no hands ever touched it) and has that pre-made taste to it. I ordered scallops that were hard and heavy. Enough said. I hate giving a negative review for I know how hard it is to run a business and it hurts for this place has such potential- However it used to be much better.

    Perfect dining experience

I love this restaurant. Even though I live 1 block away, I had never been there, but had always meant to because it looked so charming. Most of the diners were a little older than us, and we aren't foodies, but none of this made us uncomfortable. The waitress was attentive, funny and made welcome and really good suggestions. The scallops with pureed cauliflower and crispy risotto was out of this world and my husband really enjoyed his steak au poivre. Desserts were fabulous too - pumpkin creme brulee and apple crumble with ice cream.

    Lovely in Every Way

What a lovely dining experience last night! We had the pumpkin tortellini as a starter (A+), I had the organic roast chicken and my friend had the lamb. Each dish was elegantly presented and the side dishes were a perfect compliment. Our young waiter was very nice and hovered at bit at the beginning but was not intrusive. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming as if invited into someones home. We are very pleased and will definately go back. Overall A+!
