Best pizza I have had....liked it as much as "Joes" in the West Village which until now was unbeatable but too far away from upper Eastside. This place is a winner......crust is thin and crispy.

Evrerytime I walk by the smell takes over my nostrils. I can't help but grab a slice, or two, or three. Nice people work there and the pizza tastes great!

FYI, this was formerly Pinataile's which is a small private operated chain. They do make delicious, thin, whole wheat crust pizza with decent quality ingredients. There are some Pinataile Pizza places (mostly on the UES). When I pass by Gotham/Pinataile, I find it hard to resist to grab a slice. Yum!

The Grandma Pie is the best slice I've found on the Upper East Side and their sauce is incredible.

Moved into the area recently and are trying out different restaurants. Although Totonno's comes highly recommended, we saw some complaints on Menupages, so we tried Gotham. The pizza arrived hot, relatively fast and very fresh. The delivery guy was nice and the value for food is pretty good. However, I was not impressed with the taste. While the crust was crispy (bet very thin), the sauce didn't have much flavor (needed grated cheese or garlic salt) and it was very greasy. This was misleading because the pizza was covered with green spices. My husband said "this was not what I expected." Nothing like an unhappy husband at dinner time. Oh well! We will not try them again.

By FAr the best pizza that I have had in New York, it is affordable, clean, nice employees, and always dependable. I don't know what the secret is with the sauce, but it is better than any I have ever had. The restaurant itself is cozy with exposed brick and an open front, the pizza is about 2.25 a slice, and the crust is to die for, give them a try!
