if it wasn't for the fact that this might be my favorite pizza on the planet i would stop frequenting them because of the consistently rude service. but the pizza is just so darn good i let it slide that whenever i order i'm astonished with how rude they are.

I walked in on a whim and was truly impressed. The pies were fresh out of the oven, the crust was the right thickness, thin but not too thin and so nice and crispy but yet not burned. The cheese was high quality (you can tell because the pizza was not too greasy) and just the right amount (not thick and overloaded) and the sauce was just right (not too sweet). It truly was pretty close to a perfect slice. The margarita was pretty damn good but the regular slice, was in my opinion much better! They have a great lunch special, 2 regular slices and a can of soda for $5. And I don't know maybe it was the day but I found the staff to be friendly and attentive. My only complaint was that it was a sweltering summer day out and while they had their AC on the door was open at the same time and so it was pretty hot sitting in there (and its a pretty small space) but still well worth it, the pizza was that good. Better than some brick oven pizza spots I have recently tried in the hood. I definitely found my neighborhood pizza shop!

Growing up on the LES there was always amazing pizza everwhere. So when I moved uptown I went on a search for something comparable - and it was not an easy (nor low-cal) feat. My husband and I tried about 25 pizza places and each one was sadder than the next. We "found" Gotham about 4 years ago and we've been loyal customers ever since. Their pizza is delicious - crispy, the perfect thickness, not overly cheesy - so good. Their margherita pizza is also fantastic. The only down side is the often-rude and super impatient guys answering the phone. Annoying, but trust me, it's definitely worth it.

We live on 74th, between york and first, so delivery is incredibly speedy for us. To be sure, the pizzaria isnt much to look at but it wasnt trying to be more than what they are, a neighbourhood joint with good food. The first time we ordered, it was late, almost 10 , and between the 2 of us, we were so impressed with the pizza that we called them up midway through our pizza to get another one! We did a taste test between gotham and another neighbourhood pizzeria, I have to say, Gotham really did stand out. Get anything you want off the menu, it'll be great.

don't get me wrong--i love their pizza. i go to a school nearby and went there 2-3 times a week. now, i never go. the reason? the surly cashier who starts yelling at any student who take longer than a second to take out their money, get their change, and leave the store.

Folks, I am an eater. Plain and simple. and I LOVE pizza. Upon moving into this neighborhood, I stopped by the Hi Life bar n grill and the manager at their place suggested Gotham for a great slice. I have been in love ever since! Their slices are cooked to perfecting with a nice thin crispy crust and the Grandma Pizza is to die for (nowing me, it will probably be the cause of my death!) The Grandma is not quite as think as Sicilian but is basically in that category. The cheese, sauce and herbs that are used are yum and perfectly proportioned over the pie. I have a good friend who demands that we order this pizza every time he comes over. Try it. And if you do, save me a slice.
