    Good to Great

This place is my favorite brunch spot in New York. The bread basket is outstanding and the green chili macaroni and cheese... generations to come will scarcely believe that such a dish could ever be created. It's unreal.

    awesome brunch, great cocktails

Good is good (ha) for weeknight group dinners, delicious cocktails, and brunch, if you don't mind a bit of a wait, is yummy. I've been going for years.

    "good" Was Good Indeed

Sure, it was crowded and cramped, but we knew that going in. What West Village restaurant isn't? While we waited for a table, the bartender was excellent (and cute!). We had a lovely conversation with him about the "Vegas way" (his) and the restaurant's official way to make a Tom Collins. The "Vegas way" is much better! Our waiter was very good and had a good sense of humor. The food was good - solid, decent, flavorful, fresh. The chocolate dessert was amazing! P.S. The close seating resulted in (1) a really funny eaves-dropping incident, and (2) a fortunate networking opportunity! Hope it pans out.

    West Village Classic

Excellent home cooking in a chic atmosphere. A reliable place to bring out of towners to brunch. An excellent spot to people watch, especially the hotties coming in and out of Equinox next door.... oh, did I mention the food is great?

too loud and rude to be pleasant

We were in three. First they tell me on the phone that they don't take reservations, and then, while we wait in line forever, they tell us that some people had to pass ahead because they had reserved at 10AM. When it's finally our turn, two tables were available, a 4-seats and a 2-seats table. We ask for the large ones and the hostess tells us we cannot sit there because we are not four. So we add a chair at a tiny table and our plates barely fit. Of course 30 seconds later another party of three sits at that table. The music was immensely loud. The coffee was bitter. The brunch was OK but definitely not up to expectation, given the hype.

Brunch two days in a row!

Went here on Saturday and it was so good that we had to go back the next morning. The service was fine. I don't know what these people are talking about. Maybe during dinner but not brunch, even though the place is packed by 11. The mac n cheese is to die for, also the lemon ricotta pancakes. They melt in your mouth. the chipotle home fries are tasty. Had the bbq pork sandwich the first morning which was good but not spectacular. Overall, this place is worth going to over and over!!

    Good grilled cheese

Their grilled cheese and tomato with pepper jack was sooo good, not to mention great coffee and pretty big portions as well, a little pricey, but its close to magnolia for dessert . . .
