Wonderful
Best place to go after a night of partying. My favorite diner.

Breakfast... no bargain.
While the decor, food and service here are great, you'll get very little in the way of a recession bargain when it comes to the most important meal of the day. A breakfast of 2 eggs with, bacon, toast and homefries will run you a whopping $7.00 plus tax and tip while the same can be had just a few stores west for a mere $3.50. Double the price for table service and snazzy interior design? I'd skip this one for sure.

All good but the food
Lovely setting, fast efficient service, so e were very optimistic when we walked in. The atmosphere was so much more charming than most old school NYC diner. Despite the sleek, retro, upscale look, the food unfortunately was the same as the typical NYC diner -- not the slightest bit different. Biggest problem is overcooked eggs. For the sake of efficiency, most diners seem to cook eggs (scrambled, fried or omlette) on the same, super hot griddle that they cook other food. The result, dry crispy, flavorless eggs. Our omelettes were way over cooked and falling apart. Sausages: same old fat sausages you'd get in any cheap diner - - not real breakfast sausage. Potato options: same old thing - - home fries and french fries - - no hash browns. Coffee: no better than from a street stand. I really like the idea of the place, but until they make a little effort to bring their food up a notch, no need to go out of the way for this one - - except for the bright, cheery atmosphere.

Absolutely Awesome!
I stumbled upon Good Stuff Diner late one Saturday after a night of going out and what a find this was. Good Stuff is conveniently right near all of the Union Square subway stops, but you wouldn't know it from the prices. Everything was very reasonably priced and the food was outstanding. I had an apple crumble cake a la mode, which even for me, a big eater, was a lot of food. The food is delicious, there's a book of a menu to choose from and it always comes piping hot just minutes after you order it. I've been back a few times since, and the excellent service is always the same. I even had a waitress once, after asking her opinion on dishes, pulled up a chair and told me which omelette (the Greek omelette) to go with. This place is great for good, solid eats after a night out or for grabbing a quick cup of coffee and piece of pie in the middle of the day.

The Best Eats in NYC
During a recent visit to NYC, my son turned me onto this diner. The service was friendly and prompt. The food is better than a mid-town resturant. The Good Stuff Diner serves fresh, generous portions made from scratch! From that point forward, I ate all my meals at the Good Stuff. I highly recommend the Good Stuff Diner. . .because they serve the Good Stuff

Not for casual eaters
As far as diners are concerned, this one has some of the best food I've ever eaten. Even the seafood Fettucini was served with real parmesan cheese on the side. Everything I've ordered has been delicious, But if you're in the mood for a leisurely place to dine this is not the place for you. The waiters rush you, not letting you finish one course before putting another in front of you. When they feel you've spent enough time there, they will literally take your water away from you and ask you to leave. I'm not sure if this is what they were instructed by the manager to do, but in any case, beware.
