    Down Hill

This restaurant has totally gone down hill. We used to order all the time and it was good. Tonight, my $15.80 chopped salad, which is a huge rip off, was small and soggy. It was hardly worth it. My burger was terrible - hard, stale bun and overdone, cold burger. I will never order from Good Enough To Eat again.

    Cheap Customers

To the person who left a $15 tip on a $110 subtotal: $16.50 is actually a 15% tip on $110. $15 is more like 13.5%. Although I agree that it is rude for a waitress to confront a low tipper, regardless of the percent left.

    Don't believe the haters!!

Place has never disappointed me. This place is consistently on "best breakfast" lists whenever you do google search of "best breakfast nyc." With good reason. People know this, so immediatly they want to post negative reviews about the joint. That's just the NY mentality. If something has hype, they have to hate because the waitress didnt say thank-you after the bill or if they had to ask for extra butter. Everyone knows this place has a line and is popular. If you dont want to wait in line then i suggest you get there 5min before place opens.

    Good Food Rude Hostess

We have been going to this place for over a year love the homestyle cooking. But in the past few months the hostess has been a little irritating, with her "Our bartender makes the best mojito/margarita on the upper west side" speech. She will say this to you after seating you EVERYTIME! And then you get to listen to her say the same exact thing to every other party she seats. Slightly annoying if I want to order a drink, i'll get one. I don't need to feel like my hostess is a pushy salesperson. But the kicker came the other night, when my party left the waitress exactly a 15% tip. The reasons 1) service wasn't awesome, infact after she took our orders she never cam back again and 2) it just divided evenly that way among the group. Sooo the hostess is at the register with our bill and $ and I hear her go "this is the tip? that's not very nice!". So she comes over and says "I just wanted to make sure you weren't confused. This is the bill" (and she lays aside the $ for the check, holding in her hand the $ left for the tip. I say "No, we're not confused." And she's like "Well, normally people tip on the subtotal." And guess what that's exactly what we had left. A subtotal of $110 and a tip of $15. Which is actually 16.5% Then she gets all snippy and throws the change on the table saying "Fine. Here it is. Do whatever you want." So we left an extra $5. Now we've left 18%. Yes, I understand NY is a hard place to afford and waitresses rely on tips as salary. But what was aggrivating was the sense of entitlement she felt re: being tipped more than 15%. Granted, we usually do tip a little more than that. But we are by no means obligated. And it is TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE for the hostess to do what she did- question our tip. Especially when it was not less than what is "customary" in the US! I think it is safe to say that we will not be returning to Good Enough to Eat.

    Amazing breakfast

I had pumpkin french toast topped with apple and cranberry butter. It was the best breakfast i have had out in a while. There was a long line, but we did not wait too long. The restaurant is a bit crowded, but it is worth it. I would highly recommend this place.

Not good enough for the line

Came here for Sunday brunch. Waited in line for about an hour. Food was OK, nothing spectacular. Had pumpkin french toast... good but I couldn't taste the pumpkin. Friends had omelets and eggs which they said were not savory enough. Service and ambiance were pretty good, though. Overall, I'd say it's not worth the line.

    Mouth Watering Yumminess

I love love love this place for brunch.....you have to wait in-line to get in but trust me it is worth the wait. I have not had anything that was not good. And yes it is cramped and small inside but the atmosphere is charming and comforting. Take my advice, don't listen to the other reviews I'm a picky eater and the food here is top of the line.
