    Started off great...

Consistent with the old place, I guess- but had to ask for butter, orange juice and a coffee refill (not hot) after my breakfast was done. Timing, people! Started off happy to return, left feeling maybe not so much... Good as long ad they're not busy.

    SAME GOOD GETE

I honestly don't know what everyone else is saying about GETE in the move because Ive been going there for years and it's still the same its always been. The staff is the same, the food is great, the atmosphere is very cute and it's so nice that the space is bigger. Still the same ol GETE

    embarassing

I have been going to GETE for decades and was embarrassed and disappointed when I took me family out for dinner. Where do I start? the basket of rolls were tasteless , nasty and the worst kind you might get on an airline. the childrens pizzas were raw dough with a gob of cheese. @7.50 a slice it should have some taste. the batter coated chicken tenders were just greasy and uneatable. the meatloaf with dry and tasteless. the carrots so undercooked, could not cut with a knife. seriously, horrible food and high prices.

    Stuffed

Me and my girlfriends went out on a Saturday night to have a bite and a drink. There was a line, which we didn't mind because we'd heard such great things about it, but when we finally sat down, the host was very friendly and it had a very nice vibe to the whole atmosphere. We ordered our drinks, which were refilled often. We were really pleasantly surprised by the many options on the menu. We ordered the mac and cheese, which was nice, but a bit crusty. The portions were a bit big and we felt bad about wasting them and the waiter tried to take our food away too soon. However, overall it was a good experience and we will be back

    No longer GETE

We've been loyal GETE customers for over a decade, and were excited when they found new space not too far away on the UWS. We even showed our support by dining there on their opening night - which, when the food and service were just 'eh', we chalked up to being the first dinner service in the new space. But after a combined half dozen trips there/delivery, it hasn't gotten any better, and, sadly, I think we just had our last GETE delivery. The food sort of tastes like GETE, but it's all a bit off (e.g. mac and cheese tastes the same, but it's soupier and the noodles are different), and the staff has no pep! So incredibly bummed out by this, but clearly something has really changed. We'd love to come back, so please get your mojo back!

    What happened in the move?

I'm a loyal diner at GETE, but since they've moved over to Columbus Ave from Amsterdam ... something dire has happened in the level of service. I went to the new location 5 times (to be fair, and because I wanted it to get better) and every time my waiters were inattentive, and the kitchen took an excruciatingly long time to prepare my food, and the restaurant wasn't even crowded. One of these times, after waiting 30 minutes for my food after ordering, I simply left. This is breaking my heart, GETE's food is wonderful, wonderful, but they need to tighten up (or establish in the first place?) communication between the waitstaff and the kitchen, and do some training to streamline the customer experience. After all, they're not giving the food away.

    Great random dinner

I'd only heard of GETE for their brunch and notoriously long lines, but I walked in on a Sunday night and after 15 minutes wait was seated. It was an unexpectedly delicious meal with lots of healthy (and unhealthy!) options. My whole table left really happy. I can't say anything about their brunch, but I would recommend it for dinner.
