glad we found it
My husband and I were out at Zabar's a couple of days ago and just wanted to find somewhere to sit down, eat warm food and get out of the cold rain. We decided to try Good Enough To Eat and we were both glad we did. No, I don't care for the country decor but the staff is so friendly and the food is good. We both had the Macaroni and Cheese, and it's one of the best I've had in a restaurant. Most places give you something flavorless and call it Mac and Cheese because it's cheese colored. This place has REALLY good mac and cheese. We also liked their listing of hot chocolates with liquor. The Cinnamon Kiss was very good and their hot chocolate tastes homemade, definitely not a mix. Their prices could stand to be a little lower, but the quality is high.

It's alright, I guess.
I went to Good Enough To Eat for a Saturday brunch after it was recommended by a friend. I read the reviews on this site before I went and kept them in mind as I soaked up the atmosphere and ordered my pumpkin french toast. A friend from out of town joined me there and the wait in line wasn't that long for 9:45A in the morning. I'd say about 10 minutes, tops. The wait staff was seasoned and honest. When asked about the pumpkin pancakes, the reply was an honest, "you can't really taste the pumpkin in them too much". And that held true for my french toast as well. I expected more in the way of flavor and overall tastiness, especially because it's not a cheap place to eat. But, it's not expensive either. So, my friend and I left with a sort of "Yeah, it's an alright place. Coffee was good."

I order over the phone
Food comes fast and hot. I order via phone for the past few years too many to count.

Didn't measure anywhere near the hype.
Went for brunch the other day. After a half hour wait, we were seated outside. Had the farmhouse breakfast. The onion and dill toast was nothing more than thick sliced toast... no dill or onion at all. The eggs were very small, which was disappointing considering how cheap eggs are. The country sausage was pretty good. Had a side of home fries, which were ok, but way too oily. The bottom of the plate had enough oil to cover the entire plate. And oh yeah, one of the bus boys spilled a used glass of water on my leg and walked away like nothing happened. Don't bother with this place..

Good mac 'n' cheese
I ate there the other day with family. I really enjoyed my side item of mac 'n' cheese. I would just order that as a meal alone. The waitress was super friendly. We sat on the front patio & were a bit squished in because of another large party. We didn't complain, but she felt bad & gave us desserts on the house! Very nice of her to do, especially since we're in Manhattan & we're used to being squished, so it was no biggie.

Skip it
Kitschy country decor did not bode well. Pulled BBQ chicken sandwich contained hunks of sinew and bone in a ketchupy sauce. I was not happy with it at all. The homemade potato chips were greasy, but not bad because of the crispy edges. Beers are kind of expensive given the decor/environment. Service was so-so. Skip it.

Disappointed
Just went there after searching for a good breakfast place online. We each had an omelet and they were very runny inside. I barely ate mine. We dine out a lot and were quite disappointed.
