It's one the best atmospheres in nyc
I have been there about 3 times and i think that the service is good, they have a lot of plates that are not served in other restaurants. The food is great, the music is excellent they play everything! And i love the atmosphere.

Give up and pack
I agree with "No Mas" below--the margaritas here are tragic. Granted, the frozen flavored ones like mango and strawberry taste good, but they don't taste like margaritas. I ordered a regular rocks margarita with salt. It was made with a very sweet mix, and while I did get salt on my rim, it was table salt. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that's a no-no. If a Mexican place can't achieve a good marg, who can?

No Mas
I went here, for the first time, with a group of 14 people. I had chicken mole. The mole was not as good as an off the shelf brand at your local super. I also tasted a few things from a few other people and felt the food was overall pretty bland. My thought: This is great Mexican food if you've never had Mexican food. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and it came without a salted rim. Making matters worse, it wasn't a good margarita - the mix was too sweet and had a bit of effervescence, leading me to believe it was fermenting, and topping it all off was the that it was watered down. I switched to beer. The good notes: The servings were plentiful (just not rich in taste), and our server was adequate.

Stick with what you know
Whenever I go here, I order the same thing every time.... Sliced Chicken and Shrimp, served in a spicy pipian (green pumkinseed) sauce served over corn linguini. Perfect! Add a Margarita on the rocks with salt and I'm good to go,

Great Deal
A friend and I decided to have lunch on a Saturday afternoon at this place. The had a Pre-Fixe lunch special for $12.95 that also included salad and dessert. What can I say but "Great Deal"....The salad was great, we stopped our conversation to discuss how good this simple salad was...Hmmm. We both and the Enchilada Suiza and it was good as well. And to top it off...Flan...need I say more! We also had Mojitos which were okay, they were a little too strong. But overall this was a cool place, with good food, music and service..This one gets an A.

Cool place with good atmosphere. The food could be better. They play really good music in the lounge on the evening.

Great food, great atmosphere = A+!
This place has a fabulous atmosphere and tasty Mexican food! The empandas and fried plantains are something I keep going back for! The sizzling fajita platter that I had was fresh, zesty, and straight up delicious. Burritos, queseadillas, chili, rice and beans are some of the other tasty items to name on the generous menu. The margaritas are also a popular and huge crowd pleaser at G & G's.
