I ordered my food for pickup, large sesame chicken with white rice & a small order of french fries by the way. My food isn't ready when I get there so I sit down & wait. As I'm waiting I noticed they only have 1 delivery guy, no wonder they take so long to deliver. While I'm there waiting a customer walks in & orders food. He received his food before me. Then the lady realizes my food has been on the counter for 10 minutes. Keep in mind the restaurant only had 4 people eating. As delicious as the food may be the lack of service & slow delivery has forced me to go somewhere else for my sesame chicken fix. If you do decide to eat here, eat in the restaurant, do not order for pickup or delivery, you will be waiting way too long.

The food is quite good, but didnt notice till I left that they overcharged me for some food! I left it at that, but they will never have my business again. Hopefully Karma gets these guys. Also, the lady is extremely rude and has a bad attitude. Will never visit again!

I always order sesame chicken and it is beyond awesome, the food the atmosphere the workers they are awesome but when it comes to delivery they are the worst of the worst. I think they only have one guy working because every time I order it takes 40 minutes to get to my house and keep in mind I live 5 blocks away so if you ever you want to get something just pick it up. The food is about 1 to 2 dollars pricier than the other restaurants in the area but they give you bigger portions so it balances out.

All of the food is pretty good. Love their sushi prices.

If you know good Chinese food, you know this is not it! The food was bland or grossly over-salted or was a greasy mess. The service is poor and our order was not delivered correctly but we just went with it because we heard others complaining and getting no satisfaction. After unappetizing food and hostile service we were rewarded with an overcharge on the check. Never again!

I just moved to NYC, and so I am still searching for good food places to eat. I prefer places that deliver and ones that allow me to pay with my card. This place does both! So after almost 2 months of having no Chinese food, I finally decided to search online and place an order. Obviously, I had pretty high expectations because I had gone so long without a food that I love, and I must say, I was not disappointed!! I ordered a large General Tso's chicken and it arrived at my door in around 30 mins, it tasted fresh and the sauce was rich, flavorful, and delicious! (And portions were very generous!!) I will most definitely be ordering from them again!! Anytime I have a craving, this will be the place I call.

Hands down, the best Chinese place in the Heights. I've only eaten in-house one time, and our service was decent (granted, we were one of only 3 tables at the time); but it sure is nice to eat IN a Chinese place that doesn't look like a greasy spoon diner! I've ordered delivery several times and have never been disappointed. Phone staff are polite, as are the delivery personnel (even though my building is impossible to find!) Food is always exactly what I ordered (including any extras or special changes I request), and FAST. Sometimes a man who seems like the manager answers & takes the delivery orders -- and it can be a bit distracting when he's often interrupting the conversation about your order to speak to someone "in house" -- but that's the way restaurants have to work sometimes, and that's the closest thing I have to a complaint about the delivery experience. I laughed at the review below that said peppers & pineapple in Sweet&Sour Pork/Chicken is "weird, but delicious". This is the way Sweet & Sour is supposed to be, folks! Fresh pineapple & peppers in the sauce, meat in "real meat shape" (as in, not cubed!) that's lightly breaded & fried in some kind of batter with actual flavor. In response to someone's complaint about the egg rolls, every egg roll I've had from here was standard -- but fresh & just as expected. $20 gets enough food for about 3 meals, for me. And I prefer it over many of the bigger Chinese places on the Upper West side. Chinatown places are better, of course, but if you live up here, Golden Star is the place to go!
