    nice, but pricey

As someone who likes to eat healthy it's nice to find a restaurant that caters to vegetarians and health food fans but also feels like a real nice dining experience. Most of my friends won't go anywhere near a "crunchy" restaurant with me but they'll come to Gobo. It's got the look and feel of a very nice restaurant. Also, the food is great. Try the New England Rolls, the soups, the mock duck and the curries. The organic juices are great and there's a nice wine list. The only downside is that it's still possible to eat something very simple - like some vegetables with rice and tofu - and pay over $20 for it. There are plenty places nearby that serve the same kind of stuff for half the price (and Souen just further south on 6th avenue is far better value for money), but if you're looking for a slightly fancier vegetarian meal experience, or have a want to trick some meat eaters into eating better, this place is impressive. The staff can be surly and the delivery is usually about an hour wait, so don't wait until you're hungry.

    Skip it

This is a place to go if you want to show off and be seen. It's loud and crowded. Some of the dishes were excellent but others were so so. It's overpriced and the prices are small. If you want to go anyway to be seen, get the bubble tea.

    Best Vegetarian Restaurant in NYC

I went to Gobo for the first time about a week ago and have been dreaming about it ever since. The vegan food is exceptional -- never bland, always suprising -- even meat eaters will enjoy themselves. PERFECT for a date and our server was knowedgeable, friendly and attentive. Just go here: it is worth every penny.

    Great ideas at work here

The best part about this place was that they actually have a small side table where you can start having wine/appetizers while you are waiting to be seated. I especially liked the eggplant tofu.

I think Gobo is a great place. I loved the food, it was imaginative and tasted wonderful (quite important for a restaurant!) and the people were very friendly. In fact it is the first veggie where I will return...

    The Best Vegan!

Gobo has managed to do something I haven't seen since I left San Francisco...they've made vegan food glam. Nothing is cardboardy. Carnivores can dig it. The food is pricey, but so delicious. My faves are the avocado tar tar and the Malaysian curry. Also, for non-drinkers there's tasty elixirs like liquid yoga. It's a really fun spot!

    Go to Gobo...

A hip and modern place for Asian flavored vegetarian food.I was very surprised but the cool and clean decor, the wide menu selection and the tastes....sublime! I must say vegetarian never tasted so good and the best part was the price and how good it is for you!
