Excellent!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I have been a fan of the downtown location and am glad that their is an uptown one as well. Have dined here several times and never been disappointed. A slight be pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Food is fresh and delicious. Even my meat loving friends enjoy their meals here.

Too pricey for what you get....
The atmosphere was fun, the staff very friendly and helpful, but the food left much to be desired.

Even my carnivorous boyfriend loves it!
Eat here or get delivery all the time. I love this place and my carnivore loving boyfriend loves it too--makes that question of where to eat alot easier since we both love all their dishes. Most times we take/go out either he's happy but i'm struggling to find that one vegetarian dish, or I'm eating happily at a vegetarian restaurant, but BF dearest is so unsatisfied that he needs to hit a burger joint on the way home. Satisfies us both. Pricey, but the food has so much thought and is so well done, I don't even mind.

Best Vegetarian Restaurant in NYC
I went to Gobo for the first time about a week ago and have been dreaming about it ever since. The vegan food is exceptional -- never bland, always suprising -- even meat eaters will enjoy themselves. Perfect for a date and our server was knowedgeable, friendly and attentive. Just go here: it is worth every penny.

A perennial favorite
One of the highlights of trips to the upper East Side to visit my daughter is a meal at Gobo. The food is imaginative and satistying and the portion sizes always allow for something to take home. Even though I am not a vegetarian - I just like the food! Although I have chaffed a bit at some of the prices, I have found the food so consistently fresh and delicious that I have never regretted the final bill. When the restaurant is full (which it often is), service can be slow but I have never found it to be rude. During a recent late lunch, the staff couldn't have been nicer to this obvious out-of-towner.

Delicious!
A perfect vegetarian restaurant. I probably order from here twice a week and I'm no veggie. Great food, tasty and worth every penny. Chopped romaine salad is excellent along with the curry stew. Thumps up from the Brit abroad.

Not worth it!
This veg. restaraunt is not worth the hype. The food is decent at best, but waaay overpriced for what you get. We were very disappointed in general. Avoid the pumpkin risotto.
