The setian, yam fries and salad are heaven on earth. If meat-eaters could eat this every day, we'd live in a veg world! YAY Gobo, luvs it!!!

Veggie food in the summer
I've been to their uptown location a few times. I think I like this location better then downtown during the summer because you can sit outside. In my opinion nothing beats the a summery breeze with vegetarian food.

Go go go to Gobo!!
Seriously, this is a fantastic neighborhood gem and I'm suprised I haven't been here sooner. I was here first time yesterday night. I tried the ridiculously delicious seitan in ginger marinade, and these crispy salt & pepper king oyster mushrooms. Very delicious. Definitely shocked me vegetarian food could be this good. I will be back!

i can microwave food at home for free
my veggie burger tasted like it had been microwaved and basically fell apart as i ate it. got some dumplings too but didn't really do it for me. service was a little rushed even tho we were the only people there. i wish i had that half-hour of my life back.

Not just for vegetarians
I am a vegetarian, but my boyfriend is not. We both love this place. Just took my non-vegetarian parents here who also loved it. Best if you are with someone who knows what to order (I do). The sizzling cutlets are amazing, as are the new england rolls, avocado tartare, steamed spinach dumplings, soy cheese wontons, romaine/smoked tofu salad, mai fun and the coconut rice is great with any dish. Service is good and the place is very pleasant to dine in. There is a nice outdoor seating area in the summer.

Wow. Talk about good!
I had to stop in the middle of my meal to write how good to food is!!!! I have been looking for a fresh, great tasting place to have as a go to, and let me tell you this is it! Friday night close to rush hour, half hour later my food nice and hot arrives. Had the wantons and they were delish..and for anyone that isnt a veg head you wont understand, but I had the most flavorful unbelievable veggie burger! If you've even considered eating here, do it! Go now.

Post-movie dinner
After seeing Sex and the City, my friend and I wandered around the UES, looking for a fabulous place to eat, inspired by the fabulous movie. We came upon Gobo and decided to try it out, because my friend had heard good things about it. I really enjoyed it we split a bunch of courses and had two glasses of wine each. The pricing was moderate and the service was good, although our waitress did suggest we order less (she might have been hinting at something else)...I grabbed a menu on the way out and would definitely go back. Nothing to get too overly excited about though - perfect for a post-movie meal or take-out.
