Glass House Tavern

New York's theatre district is overrun by foreign tourists (like us) and the quality of the food is uneven. The management at the Glass House deserve credit for trying to run a real restaurant in a pretty crazy environment -- a personal greeting at the door, friendly service, and tasty, distinctive entrees. They served the food with a polite awareness that we needed to make our show, and so did the actor at the next table.

I went here after work with some friends and the atmosphere was quite elegant, but not stuffy. The food was unbelievable. And the dessert literally had me wishing they made a meal out of the dessert. It was so good and the staff (especially the bar staff) is very very friendly. I will definitely be going back.
