Glass House Tavern

This restaurant does not look like much from the outside. It's very nice inside. It has a nice, quiet, dimly lit ambiance. The dinner and drinks menu has some nice options. I ordered the pork chop with sweet potato. It was excellent and very filling. The service was excellent. Food was delicious. I would definitely go there again.

Centrally located, nice atmosphere. Incredibily accomodating and welcoming, especially to the children in our party. Solid option in the theatre district.

We have eaten at the Glass House Tavern several times and have always been very, very pleased. Last night we took friends for dinner before the theater and had an amazing meal. All four of us loved the food, and our waiter was professional, courteous, and helpful, but not overbearing. Unbeknown to me I left our tickets sitting on the table! Our waiter ran 5 blocks and appeared with the tickets as I was frantically digging through my purse. Not what you'd expect from a New York restaurant! This is a great place with kind, caring employees, and I would highly recommend it!

Ate at this restaurant with 7 friends before a show. The menu had something for everyone. Everything that was ordered was delicious. Some of us had fish, some had pasta. One thng was better than the next. The waistaff is so caring. The restaurant istself is beautifully decorated. We will definitely be going back next time we go to the theater

After reading glowing reviews, decided to book for brunch before theater. Beautiful restaurant, tastefully decorated. Our server was friendly and efficient. That's the end of the positives. My companion order the waffles with berries and whipped cream, which came out of the kitchen cold and hard. That got sent back to the kitchen for redo. I ordered a cheese/mushroom omelette which was dull and ordinary at best. I do better at home -- even on weekday mornings rushing to work! When our check was delivered, I asked if there was any accommodation for the returned cold meal. Our server then returned with our coffee and tea removed from the bill. Silly move by management considering the $3.95 charge for each was excessive, and for $5 more they could have just taken off the waffles from the bill and left a better taste in our mouths. I will not return.

I have worked in the area for years and often go to the theater, so I thought I knew every good restaurant in the area. As of last night, I am adding Glass House Tavern to the top of the list. As soon as you walk in, you feel as though the crowds of the Times Square are far away. There is a large, open bar/lounge area. Then 2 levels of dining with warm, inviting decor. The tables are spaced a good amount apart, which is unusual in most mid-town restaurants. The service from the time you walk-in until you leave is friendly and gracious. The menu is well-rounded American fare. We had fish and meat entrees and everyone raved. The mushroom strudel app was lovely. My red snapper melted in my mouth. I'll definitely be back for return visits to sample more of the menu.
