severely underwhelmed
The food was not impressive. Pasta was crunchy- way beyond al dente- and the vegetables must not have been cooked with any kind of seasoning or sauce as they were virtually flavorless. The soup appeared to be spiced as an afterthought as the flavors did not blend well together at all. Service was slow though the restaurant was not particularly full. Would not recommend.

This place is a keeper in my book
I have been to Giorgios twice and have enjoyed both meals. Our waiter was so nice the second time. I was indecisive about two main courses. I chose one and he came out with a rather large sampling of the one I did not choose. The service is great and the food was delicious. The only negative thing I will say is that we sat for a drink in the area in front where the couches are, no one served us. My date had to get up and order our drinks himself. The bartender was not doing anything, there was no one sitting at the bar so I'm not sure if he was lazy or they don't take the drink orders from the couch area. Also I thought the drinks were pricey. I'm going back a third time; let's see what that brings. All in all I give this a very good rating.

Very Satisfied
Happened upon Giorgio's by accident and had a great experience. Walked in without a reservation and had to wait for a table, but the Maitre'd was extremely nice and helped us find seats in the lounge area. Came over every 5 minutes to let us know how long the approximate wait was. Also took our order so we only waited a couple minutes for our food to arrive once we sat. Food was Excellent. You can also order half orders of most of the pasta dishes which makes it nice for sharing. Salads were also very delicious. I will definitely be going back.

Not so good
Really not very good at all. Calamari was ok. Duck and lamb were both subpar. Both were very acidic (as if the chef had used a cheap wine to reduce the sauces). The roasted vegetable side was subpar, very heavy on ginger which didn't match the rest of the restaurant's menu at all. Best part of the meal was the s'mores bread pudding. Service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance was a bit grotty.

Great food and value, well executed
Based on reviews here, I selected Giorgio's for a first "date" my wife and I had with another couple who we knew but had not gone out with yet. Didn't want to skew too fancy or foodie but wanted something with a bit of distinction and, after much searching, giorgio's continued to pop up on the radar. Soon after we sat and the tap or bottled water kubaki was quickly executed, the waitress brought a tasty amuse bouche of a shrimp conoction on french bread. Two of us had the beet salad with gorgonzola, walnuts, haricot vert apples. It was a perfect melange and none of the strong flavors overwhelmed. Wine by the glass was fairly reasonable. The ladies had the appy size of the mac and cheese, which they did not love, but I had the carmelized scallops, which I highly recommend and my friend had the lamb chops, which dazzled. First, it was a double rack, which you almost never see, especially at this reasonable price and, second, the quality looked top notch. The Baked Alaska looks phenomenal and tastes nearly so. Would definitely return, especially on the one night a week when wine bottle prices are cut by $15! Place was busy when we arrived at 7:30 and remained busy although we were nearly the last to leave around 11.

Little gem of Gramercy
This is a gem in Gramercy, very unassuming from the outside, and just as simple, romantic and without frills inside. The food was superb, presentation was amazing, wine list is extensive, and the service divine. A great place for a romantic dinner [the restaurant is lit by candles] or a nice quiet dinner out with friends, parents. Its a real "neighborhood" place, not an overpriced, overfrilled restaurant. A must try.

Overrated
Very disappointed with the entire meal. Extremely noisy but thankfully there was no music. All the courses took a long time in coming to us. Appetizers were nothing special & the calamari & vegetable fritti was warm not hot. In our party of 4, 2 had pastas which were ok. The other main courses were overcooked roasted chicken with warm to cold mashed potatoes & rack of lamb cooked as ordered but not hot & with underdone potatoes. The place was full, but it is the kitchen then waitstaff's responsibility to get the food to the table hot. After reading other reviews I wondered if we were at the same restaurant. Will not return nor recommend to others.
