It pretends to be Japanese, but the owner is non-Japanese, chefs, servers are all Koreans. We asked for green tea, but they served us brown tea. This type of thing never happens in an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant. There was no lemon slices for yellow-tail sushi. A plate of sauteed mushrooms was edible, but too sweet. The only tasty thing was the seaweed salad which is a traditional Korean food. I do not recommend anyone to spend any dollars in this restaurant.

I've been eating at/ordering from Ginger for a couple of years now, and it has been nothing but fantastic every time. The fish is absolutely fresh and delicious and consistently excellent, no matter what you order. The portions are also quite generous considering the more-than-reasonable prices. Add to that the very friendly owner and you've got one of my favorite sushi joints in NYC. Oh, the delivery is always superfast and friendly too.

I've been to quite a few sushi places in NYC and this one is my absolute favorite. They have some wild rolls - one of which involves eel and peanut butter (and yes, it's delicious), attentive service and a pleasant, unhurried atmosphere. Sure, you probably won't find the PB/eel combo in any Tokyo sushi joint, so don't go expecting an authentic to the T Japanese meal. However, if you want something a little different for a great value, this is the place.

I tried Ginger for the first time last night, and everything was fantastic! My date and I were running late for our Saturday night reservation, so I called to inform the host. He was very nice and held our table even though we ended up being 30 minutes late! The service all around was excellent. Now, let's get to the food! The white tuna sashimi appetizer with wasabi sauce and tobiko was succulent! The salad with ginger dressing had the best ginger dressing I've ever tasted with a lot of ginger in it and slightly sweet... so good you could drink it! The dolce banana roll (with spicy tuna, tempura flakes, and banana) and the spicy king crab roll (stuffed with a spicy king crab salad and with spicy tuna, avocado, and tobiko on the outside) were two of the best-tasting rolls I have ever had! Everything was light and super fresh. This is my new favorite sushi restaurant! I also liked that it was quiet and had a lovely atmosphere. You should definitely go!

Ginger is the best! Try any of the rolls with banana, crunchy flakes, and peanut butter. Sounds a little weird, but it's sooooo good! I will most definitely be back again and again...

I have beeen ordering in/going out to Ginger since it opened. The owner is the nicest, and the fish is so fresh. Highly recommended!

Ginger is no Nobu, but then its price ain't either. We come here for the cozy friendly environment where you won't feel jipped (and hungry, afterwards) as you go all out on ordering just about everything on the menu. Originally, my gf and I picked this place over Sushi of Gari because no reservation needed, and that they serve tempura ice cream. Luck would turn out that the food is actually quite good for the price. Interesting tidbit was that when we spoke to the owner, he called it Ginger because Omakase is too generic. Funny friendly guy.
